Fridgerator not cold and freezer not freezing

You will need to clean the condensor coil. It is usually under the refrigerator on newer models and in the rear on older models. All you need to do is use a vacuum to clean it. Also try to leave some room behind the refrigerator, do not keep it too close to the wall. It needs to circulate the warm air it extracts.

Fridgerator is freezing everything even at lowest setting it is an whirlpool energy star side by side

Hello,
Most times this is a bad cold control, but there are other things to check for. Make sure the condenser fan is working and the coils are not covered with dust. A separated heat exchanger ( small capillary tubing soldered to the large suction line ) can separate from one another and make the fridge run too long. - tape tubing back together. A poor working evaporator fan motor could also make the fridge run too long and freeze - replace the fan motor. An inefficient compressor or refrigeration system could make the fridge run too long and freeze - have a service tech check this out. A misaligned control settings, make sure the air damper and cold control have not been bumped and are out of normal settings. Stuck open air diffusers or air dampers are becoming more and more common for allowing too much air to be blown into the fresh food section and freezing things. On all frost free fridge's the freezer temp air is blown into the fresh food section, if you have "easy" to freeze items ( eggs, veggies in water, etc ) in front of or under where the freezer temp air comes out, they could freeze - store them in a different spot. Doors not closing properly making the fridge run too long is something else to check for.

Check the plastic air deflector at the top rear of the frig had been knocked off. I replaced it and all is OK. I thought you might add this to your suggestion list. As you know, the deflector directs the freezer air toward the front of the frig and the rear of the cold control, which is now functioning properly.

Hope this helpout in solving your problem

Ice on the food

why did you stop the ice maker? was it not working properly? was it over flowing or leaking? do you have a sheet of ice forming in the ice maker tray? if your ice maker was leaking then your water valve is not shutting off completely and could be leaking down on the food. if this is the case - you need to shut the water line off coming into the refrigerator and replace your water valve.

if it is frost that is forming on your food instead of ice then you should check to see if the refrigerator is defrosting properly. if the refrigerator is not defrosting properly you would also first notice that the refrigerator is not cold enough and then later that the food in the freezer eventually thawing.

The fruit and salad is freezing in the bottom baskets

You have it turned up to high, turn it down. Put the fridge at a medium level usually 4 or 5. then wait a day or so. If it is not cold enough, go up by one to 5 or 6. Wait another day or two. Repeat. It is a good idea to get a fridgerator thermometer to get the optimum usage and keep foods at proper temp. They are cheap.

Frost on back wall of freezer, side by side, wont freeze

It's most likely a defrost issue. One or more of your defrost components have failed. Defrost components are defrost thermostat, defrost heater, and defrost timer or board depending on model

Leaking water inside fridgerator

You need to manually defrost then let sit over night .Pour warm water down the drain hole if does not go down fast than you will need to clean drain tube out with wire start at the rear of the unit and there will be a drain tube going in the drip pan good luck :)
