Home theater system connections

I have a LG 42 inch plasma tv, a lg dvd player and an lg home theater speaker system. the home theater speaker system works fine with the dvd but I can't get the sound to come out of the speakers during a regular tv program. do I need a special connection for this or is it programming with the tv and dvd?

Hi
I have the same tv but my dvd surround is a toshiba, that shouldn't matter though. When I watch a dvd I go to component 2 which is where I have my dvd connected on the input of the tv when I watch tv and want the surround on I go to component 1 which is the tv input then on my dvd player I go to auxillary and I can watch tv in surround. I don't know the LG home theatre system but you should be able to select your inputs like between dvd, tuner, aux. Flip between them and you should get sound. hope this helps.

Trying to connect to LG 60 inch plasma. no output

Hi.

You need to connect the Bose using the Optical Audio output from TV to Bose main unit (kind of square shaped connector), and not using the RCA inputs on TV.

The picture below is an LG back panel, the optical audio connector is at the lower side of I/O connections at the back of TV, on some model the location of connector may be different.

Do not know how to connect my new HB954TB LG home theatre system to my LG 42inch plasma TV.

Connect speakers to amp
connect bluray player etc via HDMI in
Then single HDMI (labelled HDMI out) to the tv. The LG will automatically switch to the correct input

I have Bose 321 system w/ DVD player. I connected RGB cables directly from Bose to LG 42 inch flat screen. When i play a DVD, the image is in b&w. How can i get color?

That happened to me---there's something loose in the jacks leading out of the Bose to the TV. I thought it was just mine. You just have to jiggle them and you'll get color. That really sucks.

Lg home theater to lg plasma tv

This is a typical problem with TV broadcast UNLESS you use a matrix DSP surround sound mode, most DVD audio is either Dolby digital 5.1 surround or DTS multi-channel surround sound, unless you are viewing a HDTV broadcast with 5.1 Digital sound connected from the TV to the receiver then you are probably receiving a 2 channel Stereo sound format, I would suggest that you try to set your TV input mode to a audio Dolby Pro- Logic which will yield 5.1 and should engage all speakers.

I just bought a dvd home theater system sc-pt760 and i have a 42 inch LG flat screen and the sound wount work on AUX for the TV

Are you using the HDMI connection on both units, the SC-PT760 does have a HDMI input Yes/NO ? If not then it has HDMI output to the LG for HD Picture. What I would do if no HDMI INPUT to the SC-PT760 is available, run out of the TV with the Digital connection into the SC-PT760 Digital Audio in, assign the input as tv and you shoild get TV audio out of your home theatre, you could also use the analog connection audio out of the tv to the home theatre but this would not yield a dolby digital sound.
