The PTT button is one of the common failure parts. It is replaceable, but best done by an experienced repair center.
The following things can happen over time:
1) The internal PTT switch can wear out from frequent usage.
2) The user begins to press harder to get the PTT to work, bending the PTT switch further away from the external button the user is pressing.
3) Plastic diaphram, if any present, gets broken in half, and the external PTT switch doesn't work anymore.
Several companies offer flat rate repair on this style unit for around $85.
On the DMT2420, that's a bad bottom door switch, or possibly that switch's
mount.

Check the oil pressure cutoff switch. If oil pressure is not sensed or for some reason the switch doesn't activate the engine is killed when you return the keyswitch to the run position.
3000 watt. Really? You possibly have a blown tweeter. If your "3000 watt" amplifier really pushed 3000 watts to them or some much lower number with a lot of distortion (square waves) you will kill speakers (especially tweeters). Or maybe it's just missing the jumper between the two inputs on the back or a bad speaker cable. Do some more diagnosis. Swap things around. Use LOW volume to test.
Hello, does the soldering gun humm or vibrate. If it doesn't then replace the trigger switch. You can purchase from this web site: www.e-sonic.com/aboutus/cat/S/soldering%206.pdf GB..stewbison
Doubling Tx power, as you might suspect, doesn't double the transmit range.
As a rule of thumb. you should see about 1/3rd increase in range.
In practical terms, this doesn't usually give you something you didn't have before. it generally just "cleans up" the noisy signals at the fringe coverage areas.
