I can start my murray 22'' mulcher push mower after pulling the cord, but it will not stay running. I tried about 20 times over the course of 2 days. The air filter and spark plug are new. I have used it this season, just mowed about 5 days ago. Any idea?

Did you remember to prime it first, if there's a primer button? also can try spraying ether directly into the open carb, closing the choke, and pull-starting. if it runs a little then shuts of, try saking the air filter in ether too. if it continues to shut off, it mean that you don't have gas getting to the cylinder.

Wow, that was fast! Thank you for this info and I will give it a try. Thank you!
carb needs cleaning and/or adjustment.
Remove the air filter and spray it down good with carb cleaner.
Wait a few minutes and try to start again without the air filter.
See if the butterfly plate moves closed after starting. If not - you will need a complete teardown and rebuild of the carbeurator.
