Where do i out the laundry detergent, when there are two sections
There are two different sections to put the detergent in my LG TROMM washer, one section says bleach and the other says fabric softner. where do i put the detergent?

Look closer at drawer that comes out. The labels for pre-wash and wash are under the lip on my LG. Stand to the side and look towards your hand that opened the detergent drawer.

my washer also was leaking from the dispenser and I had a cap from one of the detergent bottles stuck in the inlet hose. Don't know how it got in there but glad I found it so if your washer leaks from the soap tray it could be a cap from your detergent bottle stuck in there.
I had the same problem with my LG Tromm and was ready to throw away every one of my towels they were so rank smelling. As a last resort I filled the detergent area with one cup of white vinegar and ran a load through on hot. Then I washed them with just a tablespoon at most of detergent. They came out smelling fine, the mildew smell was completely gone. How long it will last, I don't know.
I also read somewhere recently that we all use way too much detergent in our washers and dishwashers. And surprise, surprise, the post went on to say that too much detergent in your towels/clothes can leave a musty, mildewy smell in them.
Now when I do laundry, no matter what it is, I use about 1/4 of the amount of detergent called for, even though the HE uses so much less. In all, maybe 1-2 Tbsp, and everything comes out just as clean.
Also, try using a product from Clorox just for front loading washing machines. It's Clorox Washing Machine cleaner...it seemed to help with the overall smell. And I agree, I will never buy this particular machine again.
Use the aafesh tablets as instructed, this will clear hoses that have developed some mold, also inspect drain at the wall, these get moldy and as machine runs, smell comes out of there as well.
Even though you want your washer completely leveled, you need it to be leveled but slightly tilting to the back.
We were having this issue after we releveled our washer because of vibrations during the spin cycle. Once we made a slight adjustment, the problem was solved.
HI thanks for your question. ALL front load washers have the same problem.MY solution every wash use 1 cup of vinegar in time will solve the problem. thanks the appliance doc. please rate my answer. thanks.
Typically it is recommended to use only HE (High Efficiency) in your front loading units. The difference between HE soaps and normal detergents is that they are low sudsing soaps. HE Machines need low sudsing detergents and if regular detergent is used, the excess suds could lead to washer problems. Unfortunately just using a smaller amount of regular detergent does not fix the issue. Only the use of HE detergent assures the proper performance of your unit.
Due to this, it is NOT recommended using Dreft in HE machines.
One recommendation out there is to look for 2x Ultra Tide HE Free, which is made without dyes or perfumes.
