I have a fridgidaire washer model ftfb2940feo and it just humms and won't drain. How do I test to see if pump is bad?

hi it sounds like your pump is blocked have you tried cleaning your filter these pumps are magnetic and will sit and hum if blocked

if the water isn't draining the pump is clogged,send the model number so i can look it up,remove the bottom panel,with a shop vac vac out the water in the tub,next if you have the pump with the middle piece that screws out,loosen the middle part of the pump and vac up the water as it comes out,do this until the water is drained out,then take out the middle clean out piece and make sure nothing else is in the pump and in the hose,put it back together add some water and see if it spins and drains.let me know what you find and send the model number,if the pump humms and water doesn't drain the pump could be bad or something is still stuck in the pump
