Samsung RF263 icemaker not filling with water

That company is being sued in a class action for their ice makers. With that in mind there is a tecnical bulletin for certain units and the repair is a three step process, defrost the unit and check the ice maker fill tube. They tend to move out of position, press it back into position and use a caulking sealant around the tube, the last thing is to check for a lip around the ice maker holder in the freezer, if it is present you need to trim it back. As a last resort, you can change the main board.

Possibly the gear drive faulty in the ice maker, or it could be the dispensing chute has ice blocking it from closing properly. Completely empty the ice tray and make sure there is no ice anywhere in the tray, guides or ejection chute to the front door. On some, there is a little button under the icemaker for testing and forcing an ice maker operation. Press it and see if the ice tray rotates and reloads with water.

Ice tray may not be filling. Have a look under or on the side of the icemaker., Some have a little button to reset it. Press and hold the button in and see if the ice tray rotates and refills with water.

Is there a way to test your ice maker, the water is not coming out to fill the tray!

Your model has the twist tray style icemaker. The part number for you front section that contains the motor assembly is DA97-00258E Ice Maker Assembly. You can try by taking it out and seeing if the tray will return to the home position but stopping there make me question if the thermal fuse in wiring harness may have blown. If the tray doe not rotate at all - replace icemaker, DA97-00258C
If the tray does rotate, but does not twist when it's upside down - you need either the icemaker support bracket, DA61-002205A or the tray, part number DA63-01453B.
Both parts are cheap, so I'd get and replace both.

Remove the front cover after the ice tray has dumped cubes and remove all of the water from your ice maker tray.

Then depress the test button on the bottom of the icemaker (in front on bottom) located about 1 inch from the lower rh corner.

The icemaker fill cycle should add just enough water to cover barely cover the tray. (see page 32 of the 25 Sept 2005 user's manual)

If it is overfilling the icemaker fill time / water level needs to be reduced on the ice maker module. A normal fill cycle is about 7.5 seconds.

Another thing that will cause larger cubes is high water supply (utility co) pressure.

A temporary fix would be to slowly close the refridgerator water supply line's shut off vavle so that the water flow restricts.

The real solution is to investigate ice maker fill time, and the function of the icemaker water supply solenoid vavle for possible Delayed closing of the internal diaphram.

TOOLS NEEDED:
Eyes (fair to good shape)
#2 phillips screw driver
Flashlight

Lets assume it was working at one time right? And the FREEZER temp is BELOW 20degs

REMOVE storage bin to see icemaker.

LOCATE test button on underside or rightside of clear motor asembly.
(should be black)

Press until icemaker starts, then release button. Watch the tray twist and return to upright the should fill with water.

If icemaker worked: ICE SENSOR MAYBE BAD> ORDER NEW ICEMAKER IF THE ICE DOES NOT EJECT AFTER 4

If icemaker did not Start by pressing the test button.: UNPLUG the frig or go the Main Service Panel to the house (BREAKER BOX) and shut off the power and verify NO LIGHTS INSIDE THE FRIG>

Remove the concealed screws holding the icemaker to the ceiling.

PULL the icemaker forward to release icemaker. Using the Flashlight
LOCATE the wiring harness on the ceiling. Look for the RELEASE and Squeeze and pull down. Inspect the electrical pins to make sure all pins are equal and secured. If all is well there?
THE PROBLEM COULD BE either: ICEMAKER or Main PC Board

I would order a Icemaker assembly first since it is the least expensive.

Was the inlet tube frozen. If so your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking and when the water reaches the freezer it freezes, blocking the inlet tube. Replace the water inlet valve.
You can Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

press the reset button (black) on the bottom of the icemaker, the system will go through a cycle, and water will pour into the tray.
