Starts to smoke when in high spin

The drain pump for your washing machine could either be broken or faulty or clogged or the drain house and pump need to be replaced.

Please do not run machine with smoke coming from washer. You could create a fire. Unplug power cord, and call a qualified service person.

you can take it back where you got it from or do not use it and it can be the bushing

if it is hard to start and smokes sounds like the fuel is to old and the oil to gas mixture is wrong start off with some fresh fuel gas is only good for 30days in small engines

more than likely the rear bearing has gone bad and when a load is applied the difference in weight distribution causes the knocking.

adjust the carby. also u might want to replace the diaphragm in the carby. might work wonders

You might have overloaded the machine and the belt will smoke;the machine will still work,the items still might be wet due to the fact the machine couldn't spin fast enough.

that is one of the worst placed for any appliance..storage when not used regularly corrison set in parts tend to stick and rust forms when it usually doesn't suspect break/clutch is binding from sort of build up may try letting it go through complete cycle without a load and normal fill ..a long enough high speed spin may free up and remove some of the buildup simply by friction if that fails may need to call service

Sounds like you may have lost your basket drive and clutch assembly. This is a pretty involved job to replace for sure, and requires you to remove the inner basket, drop the transmission, etc. Does the unit make any wierd noises, like popping or grinding? Does it agitate ok in wash? I would bet almost for sure that its that basket drive and attached sub-pack thats went bad.
