The display flashes F dL and won't start.
I had Sears service out today to solve the same problem -- an "F DL"
failure, and just 6 buzzes when the door tried to lock. That was last
week, and the washer sat idle until Sears got here today. When the
technician tried it, of course everything worked fine. He suggested
several things to try the next time it fails:
1) The door must be closed in order to lock. The machine thinks it's
closed only when the little switch above the latch says it's closed.
So you can try pushing this switch in and out a few times in case the
contacts are dirty, or you can try reseating the connectors (that's
techie for "wiggle them around") at the switch and on the central
control unit. (On my CCU, it's the 2nd connector from the front, on the
left side of the CCU, with 2 blue wires in it, with "DS3" molded into
the case near it.) And, of course, be sure the door is fully closed so the switch is pushed in.
2) Similarly, reseat the connectors for the door lock, and the door
lock switch. On my CCU, these are on the front of the CCU, with the
molded labels "DL3" (black wires) and "DLS5" (pink wires) respectively.
It is most proabley your CCU .............replacing door lock will not solve the problem
Hello and welcome to FixYa
DL f is a door lock error and is caused due to an
issue with the door lock when it is unable to lock/unlock. Please check the
door lock mechanism/door switch assembly and replace the part that has gone bad
so that the issue is resolved. Please get back to me if you have any other
questions.
