SOURCE: Hi I have a frigidaire affinity washer
The warning sign "Err" indicates that an error has been detected. Check
the machine for error codes such as E47 (the control board detects the door PTC
circuit (door lock and switch assembly) is open in spin) or E48 (the control board detects the door PTC
circuit (door lock and switch assembly) is close),by waking the
machine by pressing any button. Wait for 5 seconds then press and hold
the Start and Pause/Cancel buttons simultaneously and as long as the
buttons are held, the failure code will appear in the display as an "E"
followed by two numbers, a number and a letter or two letters. The
control will beep and the Door Lock, Wash, Rinse, and Final Spin
indicator lights will flash. Proceed with replacing the door lock and switch assembly
(part #131763202) if error code E47 or E48 is confirmed to address the problem. Post back any error code shown other than E47 or E48 for further advice.
Disconnect power to the
machine. Open the washer door then look for the retaining hoop securing
the door seal around the lip of the door opening. Stretch the retainer
spring of the door seal retaining hoop then remove it.
Carefully
peel off part of the door seal from the lip of the door opening near the
door lock and switch assembly. Remove enough of the door seal to gain
access to the door lock and switch assembly.
Remove the screws
securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel. Once the
screws are removed, lift the door lock and switch assembly then pull it
away from the front panel.
Take the door lock and switch assembly
out of the machine. Disconnect the electrical connections then
connect it to the new door lock and switch assembly.
Put the new
door lock and switch assembly into position in the front panel and
secure it with the securing screws. Properly put the eased part
of the door seal back over the lip of the door opening then secure it
with the retaining hoop to complete the repair.

SOURCE: Error / Pause Affinity ATF7000
I had the issue with my Affinity ATF7000 washer displaying err pause err pause .... clicking any button would give me 3 beeps and lights would flash but would get no real error message. Repair man wanted to replace entire computer for $250 plus service call rate. So by dumb luck I did this and got it working. 1. Unplug washer 2. Take off top (screws on back) 3. Unplug connector to the pressure sensor (carefully). Looking at the washer it is mounted to the right side near the front and looks round when looking at it from the top. 4. Plug in the washer and it should display E31. E31 is just saying it cannot communicate with the pressure sensor (which makes sense because you unplugged it). 5. Unplug washer and reconnect pressure sensor. 6. Put top back on and plug in washer. 7. Washer should work but E31 error will remain in memory so if you do call a repair man he may think the pressure sensor needs to be replaced. There is a way to clear error codes but I could not get it to work. This is my theory on why it worked. The computer program on the washer is stuck in a loop that will not allow the washer to function. When we unplug the pressure sensor we give it a real error and it exits the loop it is stuck in. I am a programmer by day so this may not make sense to some.
