Sound only works in VID mode with audio/video hookups either through a DVD player or video game consoles. Sound does not work with just cable hookup with coax cable.

Just adust the system reception to auto mode in your tv and retry. You can do it through remote control menu, going to sound options. Check tha sound system to auto. If the Tv has only PAL and SECAM system; NTSC signals do not output sound. If the tv is multi system compactable, making system reception mode to auto may help you.

My S Video from laptop works with TV however no sound on TV

No, S-Video is video only. Look for the Audio output jack on your computer (usually its a lime green earphone hole). you will need a 3.5mm to RCA Stereo output wire, and attach the RCA audio to the AUX input of your TV, and then hook it to the Earphone/Speaker output jack on your computer. Then you will have to set your computer volume at about 75% (not all the way up, but more than halfway up). Then you can adjust the volume on the tv set. (just fyi, if you have bass boosting on the COMPUTER, turn that off, as well as any Equalizer or BASS/TREBEL booster. Set your mixers and boosters to NORMAL for best sound. not doing so could produce popping or scratching in the sound from the TV, also, if you have your PC volume higher than 75% that can also cause popping)

No sound when playing a tape in the rca vcr player

If it's connected with a scart cable, then there may be a bent pin or broken wire.

How can i get sound from my Tv to go through my surround sound.

If you are using a "cable box" or "sat receiver" the audio will go from the cable/sat to the surround system with either optical, digital coaxial or analog RCA to the TV input on your surround system. If it does not have an input specifically labeled "TV" you can use vid 1 vid 2 etc. just make sure that when you wish to listen to the tv on surround that the surround system is on the correct input.

If you are using just an "off-air" antenna, your cables would go from the TV "monitor out" which will be either optical or analog RCA to the surround system and the appropriate input. Hope this isn't too confusing, if you need more help, post a comment and I will help some more. Hope this does the trick

Psp connection to the TV

The cables you speak of is called component cables. They only go into color coded connection in the back of your tv. The best way is to look behind your television and more than likely there should be rows of either three or five connection and or markings saying RCA or Component connection. What your looking for is component.

Just to give you some info:
The cables you own will play vids, music, and games. But in order for the games to work you must have a HD TV.

If you see RCA jacks for your psp 2000 (slim) or 3000 (lite) than the only things will work is vids, & music (on any TV so long there is a RCA connection doesn't have to be HD).

Hope that helps.

Hitachi ultravision 50v500

there should be 3 sets of video rca jacks on tv or receiver they might have put them on the wrong rca jack in which they just need to be moved over
usually the 3rd set of rca jacks are component jacks not for tv or video but for low output signals say like cameras and only one set of rca's can be used at a time svg on one of them rca's will over power the vid's. so have no picture
