How to receive the best dryer repair help on FixYa
There are a couple of things that you should include in your dryer repair question so you receive the quickest and most accurate answers.
1. Model Number
The model number can be located on the model/serial number tag that is located on the dryer.
Make sure you get the full model number from this tag and not the model number from the owners manual.
The model number from the owners manual only includes the first few digits of the full model number because they include that owners manual with many similar models of dryers.
With the full model number I'm able to look up factory service manuals, tech sheets, wiring diagrams, factory service pointers and so much more.
2. Detailed description of the problem
At the very least give a brief description of the problem you are having with your dryer.
Descriptions like 'My dryer don't work' is not very helpful.
Describe what is not working. For example is the not heating? Maybe the dryer is heating, but takes a long time to dry?
The more details you can give the better. Instead of saying 'The dryer is heating, but takes a long time to dry' you could go into more detail and say something like...
"I put a load of cloths in my dryer and set it on the auto dry cycle. When I went to take them out two hours later the dryer was still running. The cloths were still a bit damp too. Most of the time I can dry a load of cloths this size in one hour. Why is my dryer taking so long to dry?"
Following these couple tips can help you get a faster and more accurate reply to your dryer repair question.
