You should have numbers on the keyboard which you can access using the Fn button... you can also use these without the FN button by htting the NumLock button, then use as normal keypad....
other that that try using the Alt button and the Fn with the corresponding digits. So hold down Alt, FN and tap the corresponding digits/letters on the keyboard.

If you need to use a numpad a lot, then can purchase a USB numpad - often included with USB kits from gadget shops.

in this case the following should help you. You may have to relearn some codes but if you use the same ones regularly then it may not be a problem for you. Depending on the application you use - MS Word for example you can use the Alt + X shortcut. Enter the hex code of the special character you want then press Alt + X together and watch the number magically change to your desired code...

for example to enter the @ symbol ( i know you have this on your keyboard already... ) but you type 64 and press Alt + X and it will change to @ - for the copyright symbol type A9 and then press Alt + X and is should appear.. not all applications will support this - but hopefully yours will.

Your keyboard logic chip is in need of therapy.

Replacement of keyboard warranted.

Now, I thought that it might be a redesignation of your language code, but that proved not to be the case.

SOURCE: 1qaz keys on my toshiba satellite a100 laptop are

A keyboard sends "scan-codes" to the computer,
e.g., "user pressed ALT and has not yet released it,
user now pressed CTRL and has not yet release it,
user now pressed DEL and released it".

So, if you've changed keyboards, then the new keyboard _should_ be sending the correct scan-codes; it must be your computer's motherboard that is not properly interpreting the scan-codes. Ouch!
Replacing the motherboard is _not_ cheap.

My toshiba laptop is typing wrong characters but my wireless tevion keyboard is o k. Is there a solution to this ?

Sounds like the laptop keyboard went bad and thats why its typing wrong characters. Best way to verify this is to use a USB keyboard on the laptop, if the USB keyboard is typing the correct keys then you know the laptop keyboard is bad. If the USB keyboard is typing the wrong keys as well then you know its a setting in windows that is causing the keys to type wrong characters.

hold down the Fn key and hit the F key that has the correct picture. this will reenable the mouse pad

When typing on toshiba the curser skip and actually moves

It might be that your palm is brushing across the intel touch pad (mouse pad) as you're typing?.. try holding down the function key (Fn) (on the lower left corner of the keyboard) while pressing F9 (this activates the "Toshiba Flash Cards Menu" and is a keyboard shortcut to toggle off/on the touch/mouse pad. You can turn it back on this way too. I almost always use a conventional USB mouse with my laptop for this reason and because it's faster than fiddling around with the pad, IMHO).
