I have an 2007 Acer Aspire 5315-2153 laptop. The serial number (SNID #) on the sticker on the back of the computer has faded. I need to find out what the my computer's serial number is so I can get a new start up disk for it. I went to support.acer.com but cannot find the help I am looking for there. My computer came new with no book. Any help on finding out what the computer's serial number is would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Sometimes a serial number will be imprinted on a receipt, depending on where you bought the computer...or on packaging that you might have saved...
I've seen suggestions that it might be possible to locate it in the cmos/bios setup, but that doesn't seem too likely to me, and if you found one there, it's hard to believe it would be the same as the production ser. #.
You could try sending a support request to Acer, describing your situation... they might have some trick to locate critical info like hitting esc or F2 as it boots, but it may scroll by too quickly to read...
As you start your laptop, press F2 to go in the setup. On the first tab, you should find all the specification of your laptop: CPU,Speed, HDD model, HDD serial number, etc, and as well the serial number of your laptop
