I am new to camcorders. i have tried to upload my movies onto computer then burn dvd. it is so time consuming, 1 tape takes over 8 hours to down load. i managed to my surprise burn 1 dvd. when i played it back on the television it ''lagged''. please help as all my tapes are now full. can you recomend a sofware program? my brother recommended windows movie maker which i tried but could not get the format right.
Have you burned the DVD in the right way? You should not copy the movie directly. You should use a burning program to convert and burn video and movie to DVD. You can check on this post to see how to burn movie to dvd: How to Burn and Convert MP4 to DVD

Hello JKelley,
When you connect the camera to your computer using the USB cable, wait for few seconds for the computer to recognize the new member.. Now check under "My computer" ... You will have a new drive letter that represents your camera.
Double click on the camera drive letter and open it up as you normally do with other drives .. You can copy the images or videos from the drive to your computers desktop.
Let me know if that was helpful and Do not forget to rate the solution as "Fixya" :)
All the best for your Presentation.
try burning onto a dvd from adobe then manually uploading the footage from the dvd to the movie maker. Sometimes movie maker will not do auto if footage is out of focus....balance....or is too shakey.
first install the driver camed with your camcorder to your pc. this should recognize your computer after the installation.
use USB cable to connect your camcorder to your pc.
as far as i know jvc is using a software name ulead (because i also have a camcorder and its software is ulead)
Try to use Ulead Movie producer, Windows Movie maker or any other software that accepts uploading dv video.(i prefer to use ULEAD movie producer or any Ulead products its easy to use)
After uploading it from the ULEAD and editing, save it with any various types of videos you like. (in your case save it in DVD format so that it will easy for you to burn it.)
Use NERO after searching the save video file and Burn it in DVD type
I hope you understand my procedures and steps on how to transfer it. if you have further questions just contact me. hope that helps!
install the driver cd camed with your camcorder to your pc. connect usb from camcorder to the pc. it should be recognizable by your desktop. find any movie maker or use ulead movie maker to upload your videos from your camcorder to your pc. save it in any type of videos do you like so that its playable. burn it with nero if you want to watch in your dvd player. hope that helps you!
try to install the cd driver camed with your camcorder. insert the usb from your camcorder to your pc. use Ulead movie maker instead of Windows movie maker.
in the software that u use to burn dvd...may be nero or roxio turn the dvd option on or select the dvd burning option.......u cannot use the xp writing sotware to burn dvds
Well what i did was i got a ati video card that had built in video inputs (and it also had a tunner) plugged the camcorder up to it and recored what was on the camcorder on to the pc (ati came with a utility that made this possible). after the movie was on the PC i recored it to dvd with nero. I think you could also use movie maker that comes with windows xp
connect tothe computer with the firewire cable, plug your camcorder into the mains and open windows movie maker on your pc and press play on the camcorder and capture video in windows movie maker. Easy.
i suggest you obtain the program cyberlink powerproducer onto your pc which is such a user friendly program to help you burn video from camcorder straight onto a dvd. you should be able to download from the internet.
