3 year old front loading washer starting to smell bad. Needs a thorough cleaning. Can we get soebody in to do this at what cost? Or is there some trick to cleaning it ourselves other then the obvious

We have a 10kg LG WD-1019BD washer about 3 years old. Absolutely love it, no hassles. We have 6 kids so it works hard and often. My problem is that it is starting to really smell! We clean it as we can. The rubber seal looks marked by mould, but no antil mould will get it off. Can somebody come and prifessionally clean our machine and at what cost? Or is this something we can do ourselves? Many thanks Lesley Klem

Are my washer and dryers able to be stacked?

if they are both front load, you can stack them, but you probably will have to have a special stand made, and a ladder to reach the controls. If you have a HE front load washer, it would not be worth stacking, because it will break and it will be harder to repair. But most likely you will buy a new one once you find out how much it costs to repair a HE front load washer. They may save water, but they run twice as long and do not clean as good and will break and the repair will cost likely cost as much as the washer. Either a circuit board will burn up or the rear bearing will go bad. The larger capacity the faster the bearing will wear out. If you just bought it, I would send it back and buy a top load commercial machine or front load, but not in a box store. I got 28 years from my old model and my dryer is over 30 years and never had a problem and still looks new. If you get 5 or 10 years from a front load, consider yourself lucky

Is there any kind of recall on a Maytay front loading washer, model #MAH6500AWW? I am having problems with mildew in the rubber part and terrible smelling water in the bottom.

The cleaning process for your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer, for example, requires some time and patience. Over time, your washing machine will need to be cleaned. It can develop offensive odors through multiple wash cycles. This makes the washing machine less effective at cleaning the clothes you put into it. Maytag offers some sound advice for cleaning your front-loading washing machine.
  • Pour 2/3 cup of liquid chlorine bleach into the bleach compartment of the dispenser drawer of your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer.

  • 2

Run your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer on the "Clean Washer" setting. Press "Start" to start the cycle.

  • 3

Leave the door open once the cycle is complete to allow the inside of your Maytag Neptune front-loading washer to ventilate and air dry.

  • 4

Look closely at the gray seal of the Maytag Neptune front-loading washer's door opening. This seal can have a buildup of debris or detergent residue.

  • 5

Spray the seal with an all-purpose appliance cleaner and scrub away any debris or residue with a cloth or scrubbing pad. Dry with a clean cloth.

  • 6

Remove the soap dispenser drawer. Press the release lever and lift it out to clean.

  • 7

Take out the inserts and rinse them and the drawer thoroughly.

  • 8

Wash with a mild soap and cloth to remove any residue. Dry thoroughly before replacing.

  • ALWAYS LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN WHEN NOT IN USE! This prevents the mold and mildew from forming once you get it cleaned.

    Frigidaire front load washer SMELLS!!!!

your inner tub needs to be removed and the outer tub including the outside of the inner tub needs to be cleaned of all the sludgy soap, fabric softener, etc. that has built up in between the tubs, along with the drain tube at the bottom, you might try bleach as a stop gap,but sooner or later you are going to have to clean this out the hard way,its not fun

It makes my clothes smell really bad

I am not familar with this machine...but
it probably has a lint filter on the washer somewher inside the tub. Probably close to the front. also these front loaders have a big rubber seal, check and make sure nothing has fallen in between them. They make a specific product for cleaning these machines, sell it on same isle as detergent.

Moldy smell in front load kenmore washer

I had the same problem. Have you cleaned the filter under the front panel? Simply remove the three screws holding the panel below the door and remove the 2" white screwcap. Be sure to have a basin handy to catch the water. (possibly a couple of gallons if the stainer is really clogged) I suspect you'll find several moldy items that are causing the odor. Good luck.
