JVC AV-21QMG3 Random 'Pop' sound

I have a Multi System (Dual Voltage) TV (Mo No. AV-21QMG3 i brought with me back from Europe. Now, using 120V (when i used to use 240V), it works but i see a light on inside the back of the tv and it makes a random 'pop' sound. I doubt it is supposed to do this - what is wrong? Can I fix?

Rainbow color and weak Receptions.

There are two possibilites for this fault. The fist one one is vertcal output IC failure. Replace it first and check. If this does not help you, chroma IC is faulty and should be replaced with same type and number. OK

The Philips Norelco Bodygroom BG2040, does this model support multi-voltage charging ie. 100v - 240v? Or is it only 100-120v?

Welcome to Fixya,

According to the manual of The Philips Norelco Bodygroom BG2040, use only the cord and charging stand that was provided. Also you just have to plug the adaptor into 120V AC outlet.

If you want to know more about your Philips Norelco Bodygroom BG2040, just click here for the manual.

Hope this will help you and answered your question.

Thank you for using Fixya.

This TV has a European RF (antenna) connector called the Belling-Lee type. There's a Wikipedia page about it if you want more information. While this set will tune American TV broadcasting and cable, it was made for the European market. The manual (available here) even refers to this as a "colour" TV. If you're using this TV here in the US, Radio Shack carries an adapter so you can connect a standard F-connector.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fixya!

TV made a loud pop

sounds like a popped power capacitor, its going to have to go to the shop most likely around 100.00 repair. taking the back off yearly and airdusting them helps, especially if you have a smoker in the house. caution high voltage present even when off, the heavy single red wire going to the tube is high voltage be careful.

Your tv might not support that option there might be an antenna for basic channels on top of your tv but what you can do is get video + sound cables(red, yellow, white) and connect them through this way.

No picture but sound is perfect

Sounds like the video output has a problem. Maybe missing the 200 volts from the High voltage transformer. The vertical circuit may have an issue. Either way it's hard to diagnose without looking at it. If you need a technician contact JVC online at: Good Luck
