  • Brad Brown Nov 20, 2013

There are three things that could be doing that. The heater coil in the washer is bad. The sensor is bad, the relay is bad;. Check the inlet water temp too

SOURCE: what does F7 mean on a whirlpool 6th sense washing

Hi,
F7 in whirlpools means "Clean the filter”.
The following troubleshooting steps would help fix it. Remove the filter on the floor of the machine, including the metal grill. Press & hold the start button (like you do when you want to cancel a program this will drain the water out of your clogged up drain outlet. Clean your filter and grill and replace it. My guess is that the sensor in the drain (a little glass tube) measures whether the water going out is clean enough to decide that your dishes are now rinsed correctly. If your filters clogged, the water going down the drain is still dirty. After a while it gets sick of trying and stops the machine.

SOURCE: code f23 for whirlpool washing machine

Hi,
It means that there is a fault in the heating circuit and the heater is not working

The listed site deals with this problem so take a look and if you are fully capable of testing, follow the troubleshooting instructions but always double check that the unit is unplugged or disconnected from the electrical supply.

http://www.assuredparts.com/WhirlpoolDuetWasherFaultCodes.html

And remember kindergarten rule #1 "If in doubt, don't" with everything that is potentially dangerous. Electricity kills so a service repair bill may be a better solution.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: What does code F70 and F71 mean on my whirlpool duet?

Error code F70 means no communication is detected from the Central Control Unit (CCU) to the User Interface while F71 is the reverse; no communication detected from the User Interface to the Central Control Unit (CCU). This could simply mean a loose or poor connection between the two communicating boards.

Disconnect power to the washer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Remove the three screws attaching the top panel to the rear of the washer then slide the panel rearward and lift it off the washer.

Disconnect the User Interface ribbon connector from the left side of the Central Control Unit (CCU) and clean the connector and terminals thoroughly. Reseat the connector several times to ensure a good connection between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the User Interface.

It is highly recommended to clean and reseat every wiring harness connector from the Central Control Unit (CCU) to prevent the same problem in the near future.

Reconnect every wiring harness to the CCU and make sure all connectors are firmly seated. Slide the top panel back into position and secure it to the rear of the washer with the screws previously removed.

Let us know if the problem persists for further assistance. We will be happy to resolve your problem.

MY WHIRLPOOL BLACK 6th Sense washing machine is not working, the indication panel has code F13 and a red spanner. I have changed the fuse, cleaned the filter, and disconnected/reconnected the cold water...

Hello!

F13 means a problem with the door locking mechanism. Turn of and then turn on the machine.
Try to open and shut the door of the machine again. If the error still persists, then you will need to replace door lock mechanism. For this, you will need to remove the door gasket (its hold by spring tightened wire, then unscrew the 2 TX20 screws that hold the doorlock, unplug -it, note the part number and order a new one from your part supplier, install-it back. It's a bit difficult to put back the door gasket spring, take care to put back the gasket correctly.

I am getting a F50 error during the rinse cycle - what does this mean?

Hello,

here is what the F50 error code means and what must be checked when it comes up

F50
(F50)
Motor Stalled F then 50 flashes when the motor rotor position sensor (RPS) senses no rotation.
Does basket turn freely? If not, make sure bottom shipping pack has been removed. Determine cause of friction.

E8 front loader washing machines

OVER CURRENT ERROR - Display shows 8E.IPM fault signal (this is caused by the overload of the MICOM INTO during motor action).
IPM: Integrated power module. The IPM controls the motor.
If the fault (low signal) happens to be sensed even once during the washing/rinsing stage, the motor stops immediately. However, during the dehydrating stage the signal is to be sensed, when the number of signals reads more than 6 per 500ms during the Washing or Rinsing cycle action.
If the motor stops working, in one direction ten times, "8E" Error is displayed.
During dehydrating, when the overload is sensed, the motor stops working at once and then feeds back to the initial stage of the dehydration unbalance sensing. When the feed back has occcurred twice, Error "8E" is displayed during the dehydrating unbalance sensing, No error happens by overload sensing. When it happens at more than 800rpm, the process is stopped compulsorily. Power Switch OFF can clear the overload error.

HOWEVER, the UK White goods website says:

E8
Temp too high on low temp washesNormally this will be the wash temperature thermistor or NTC that's faulty, please contact us if you need the thermistor with the model and serial number.

I keep getting the F50 code and I also got the SD code a couple of times. I followed the manuals directions and pressed pause/cancel and it still came back. We also unplugged the washer for about 30...

The "Sd" or Suds Detected error means that you used too much detergent. Reduce the amount of detergent that you use, and properly measure it.
When you receive the "F50" code, it means that the motor position sensor does not sense that the basket is moving. Remove any remaining packing material from the tub.

Hope this helps.. :)

My washing machine starts on normal and within a minute it starts to flash F50. what does this mean?

Check Maytag.com for computer codes relating to your device. They provide full information for all of their machines online and this sounds like a common code number.

ERROR MESSAGE F50

The F50 error code indicates that the RPS (rotor position sensor) detects no motor rotation. Check to see if the basket spins freely. If not, you could have an item caught between the outer tub and the inner spin basket. A toy or other item underneath the washer could also prevent the basket from spinning and would result in this F50 code.

If the basket spins freely, you could have a wiring failure that would prevent the motor from spinning.

I keep geeting an f50 error code does anyone know what this is.I

this code means the unit is not sensing any motor movement. it could be the motor rps sensor, or a bad control board not sending any power to the motor.
try to turn the tub by hand and start over with a spin and drain cycle. if it still comes up with a failure, then it will probably need a tech to check if you are getting any power to the motor.
if you want to contact whirlpool and ask them if they will help you with the cost of repairs and then recommend an authorized service center.
