Sad to say it may have never been a bad pto clutch but probably safety switch problem. The running tractor wants you in the seat, brake off, levers over your lap and not backing up for the PTO to stay engaged . There is two push button switches on each lever that lay over your lap ,one on the parking brake,one under the seat. All of these switch wires meet at the PTO switch and all have to agree they are in the position they need to be in to allow electricity to come down the wire to the PTO Clutch.
Are you asking for leak down pressure, bmep, or compression ratio? Depending on the hours on any L-head engine the carbon deposits will create higher pressure. Running the engine while spraying water as from a Windex bottle will clean them out.
Not normally. Most times they short out blowing the fuse.
It sounds like the engine running fine until engage the clutch. It more likely that you have a safety switch related problem like a bad seat switch or loose connector..
I had the same problem with my tractor.same tractor and everything.all u have to do is you know the wires that hook up to your seat?them 2 wires cant be touching eachother.if them 2 wires that hook to your seat r touching eachother,it will stall out when u let out the clutch.
Check that you are getting voltage to the wires that connect to the clutch when you switch on the pto. If not check that you are getting voltage to the pto switch. If you are the pto switch is faulty. Regards Phil
