If it is humming, it's loading, puting out to a dead short when triggered.. Double check the lead connections and polarity. Good luck

An extension cord is okay if you have a heavy duty cord. Make sure you get a big enough extension cord to carry the amps. I'm not sure that's the problem though. It sounds like there are some wires touching or something. Make sure that where the electricity comes into the machine that the wires aren't frayed or touching the welding machine's body. Does it arc inside the machine when you pull the trigger? That would be the next thing to look at. Hope you can find the problem soon. Lotsa work to do!

The most common problem is that people still try and run the welder with extension cords. 10 ft,25ft,50ft,100ft, these cords all drain and can't supply the energy needed as if you were to plug it straight into a wall outlet. well I don't have a plug outlet where my work is, I need a extention cord. The only solution for not having a handy outlet is a Generator. that will supply the necessary voltage needed to do the job. EXTENSION CORDS ARE A NO NO. also, always double check your ground.

Hope this was helpful, please post a rating good or bad, thank you.

I use an extention cord made up of number 4 wire, 20 ft. Works fine. Most 20 AMP wall circuits use number 12 wire. The lower the number the more load it can carry without power loss. Just my humble thoughts.

It willnot weld

if it is just not feeding wire, check the tension on feed wheel. Make sure it turns when trigger is pressed. Also make sure you have gas with solid wire. If you have cored wire gas is not needed.

I have the clark en130 i want to weld stainless what do i need to add

Just a trimix gas, if you are using solid SS wire. If it is core shielded SS wire, you are all set up.
Trimix gas it's a mix of Argon, helium and CO2.

Getting lots of splatter weld will not hold

Check polarity of machine.
Solid wire with gas assist will need straight polarity ground clamp to negative side.
Flux core wire no gas, need reverse polarity; ground cable to positive side.

Clark 130en does not feed well. Feeds great on 10

try checking the tension on the feed roller, you may have too much tension which in return will not allow the wire to feed right, check to make sure your feed roller is for the size of wire you are using, next check the tip size for the wire your using.

Welder always pulsates and doesnt feed wire at a steady speed. There is also a humm sound when you turn it on also sometimes it doesnt work at all

Most welders hum when turned on. The pulsation could be the unsteady feed. The feed could be one of several things. The rollers that drive the wire could be adjusted too loose. The tip could be damaged/burnt/melted. The tube that the wire feeds through inside the lead could be damaged or kinked. Be careful when welding that you don't have the lead bent too much -- keep it as straight as possible. This will minimize problems due to kinking. When you say it doesn't work at all, if you mean doesn't feed, this could be the same problem. If it doesn't turn on at all, that's something else. Post more details and we'll see what we can do.

Welder not welding

The contact tip is the main source of power, if the tip is bigger than the wire then you will not get a proper conection, the earth clamp is a essential part of the system make sure you have a good earth and all the conections are tight

Runs but gun dosenot opreate, it is a clarke 130en

The only things I can think of are:
  • The tension on the coil of welding wire is too tight and needs slackening off.
  • The feed rollers need cleaning and the tension adjusting.
If none of these solutions solve your problem then I can not help you any further.
