Can't adjust freezer temp on kenmore, French door bottom freezer model 2537031321

This usually means there is NOT enough air flow over the sensor, The error message is indicative of a system evaporator fault. This can mean a faulty sensor or the evaporator fan motor may not be working. Indeed, the motor may be iced over. If the motor is bad, it will require replacement. Testing such would require testing the voltage. A manual: https://www.searspartsdirect.com/manual/6zhyaddlfh-000582/kenmore-25370313211-bottom-mount-refrigerator-parts

WATER SPLASHING IN FREEZER AT ICEMAKER
THE FILL TUBE IN BACK OF REFRIGERATOR CAN SLIP
AGAINST THE FILL RESERVOIR CAUSING A PARTIAL BLOCKAGE
OR BECOME CLOGGED WITH ICE.
REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.
RUN WATER IN TUBE TO ELININATE BLOCKAGE AND CHECK
TEMP IN FREEZER. IF TEMP IS BELOW 0 DEGREES, THATS
OVERKILL AND USUALLY A WASTE OF ELECTRICITY TO KEEP IT THAT COLD, NOT TO MENTION THE FILL TUBE FREEZING UP

Temp control is displaying Er and FF code on bottom freezer, French door Kenmore Elite ref model 795.75193401

This is an error code that pertains to the evaporator motor but could also be the main board.
If the evaporator motor is running, the main board will probably need to be replaced.
It could be a wiring problem but it's not very likely.

If the motor is not running, some voltage checks will need to be made, at the motor and board, to determine which component has failed.
These checks require a meter and can be difficult to make, even for a technician.

Freezer is too cold, refrigerator does not work

The problem is with your defrost system. If you remove the back panel of the freezer you will probably find a solid block of frost/ice. This restricts your airflow across the evap coils not allowing air to circulate to the ref side. It could be a problem with your defrost heater, termination, or defrost control. Your termination will be located at the top of the evaporator coils when you remove the back panel you can usually do a visual inspection of the component to see if it looks "popped out or swollen with ice" the heater can be tested for continuity. If the heater ohms out ok then the easiest thing to do would be replace the defrost control and termination. You will need to let the evap coils completely thaw out with a heat gun or by turning the unit off w/ the doors open for 24 hrs before plugging it back in after replacing components.

Also make sure your evaporator fan motor is running in the freezer to pull the cold air over to the fresh food side. If its not running then you probably have a bad evaporator fan motor.

FREEZER WORKING BUT FRIDGE NOT

Remove the rear panel in the freezer and see if the evaporator coils are frozen over.
If so dethaw coils with a hair dryer.
Reassemble freezer and set controls to the normal position.

Although you replaced the defrost timer if the coils were frozen over in the freezer no air can transfer to the ref. section from the freezer.

If you do not want to dethaw the coils unplug the ref. for 1-2 days and leave the doors open .The coils will dethaw by then.

Evaporator fan noise. How do I access the evaporator fan motor to replace it?

Turn off the refrigerator. Remove the freezer shelving and bins. Remove the screws holding the rear panel inside the freezer. Repair or replace the fan motor.
You may also have to remove bin supports from the side wall to get the panel out depending upon your model. The model number posted is incomplete.

Kenmore Trio: the refridgerator is not getting cool

In the Freezer or Fridge compartment, there is the Evaporator Fan (& Motor) If the freezer is cold, the Evaporator fan motor most likely went bad. Check to see that when the compressor is running, so should be the fan motor. If not, you have to remove it & replace it. It is not an expensive repair unless you call for service on it. Make sure that you unplug the fridge when you replace the fan motor.

Kenmore side by side

Unplug the wires from the motor and check the voltage differential cross the two wires. If you have 120 Volts or in that area the motor should run. Try moving the fan shaft up and down. If you have any play in this the motor bearing are bad. Replace the motor.
