DVD automatically opens with Toshiba Video Player. I can't see to find a way to play the DVD using Windows Media Player. Toshiba Video Player keeps telling me I have the wrong area code, yet I am in Australia trying to play an Australian DVD...please help
Hi, I think this may help. what you need to do first of all is change the default player for DVD's from Toshiba Video Player to Windows Media Player, cant remember off hand how to do that but should be in manual, but try this. go to windows control panel, select 'Default Programs' and click on it, then select 1st option 'Set Your Default Programs' a list of all programs will come up, look for Windows Media Player and click on it, then choose one of the options on the right. The top one sets as default, the bottom one allows you to set file types to open with the program. this should work as it is telling your system to launch that program for DVD's etc, If you cant find your control panel, simply click Start and type it in the little box that appears just above it.
hope this helps
Why not get a region free Blu-ray player program on your pc and then you will be able to play discs of any region codes. You can try Leawo Blu-ray Player which is a free Blu-ray player program and a free DVD player program, also a 4K player.

Please insert single layer DVD. they will be detected.
The DVD Player in ur pc can not read double/dual layer DVD's.
try to update your media player.if possible windows media player 11. If still it doesnt work try to check your direct X installed components. Try to update it also. next try to check your display driver settings maybe your display driver isn't working. check it by running the run command and type dxdiag to check your computer system go to the display settings and check if there are any installed driver.
