Valet mode

The valet button location is decided by the installer and is usually hidden. Find the main control unit and follow the 2 wires to the valet switch.

Where is the valet switch on my remote controller

The K9-Eclipse has a push button valet switch. The switch is about 1/2" in diameter and about 3/8" in height. I can be installed anywhere but it is usually under the dash.
In order to activate valet mode, you need to push and hold the button for 3 seconds while the system is disarmed. Valet mode will be confirmed with a long siren chirp and the LED illuminating.
Valet mode can be deactivated by pushing and releasing the button.

What is the valet button located inside of glove compartment used for

It is used for programing the alarm, it is used to disarm the alarm without the remote, [in case remote is damaged] and it is used to put alarm system into valet mode, [service mode] valet mode is only really needed if the alarm has been programed for passive arming, [alarm arms itself].

Your main use for the valet switch, [if programed for active arming instead of passive arming] is to have a way to disarm the alarm if the remote does not work.

Battery went dead so replaced the battery but now alarm system doesn't work. Keyless entery remote works to open and lock doors but no alarm. How do I reset the alarm on Ford explorer 1999?

It sounds like the system is in valet mode. Depending on the brand and model that is installed, the procedure to turn off valet mode can vary. The most typical way is to turn on the ignition key and press and release the valet button, or if it is a switch, to flip the switch

My K9 alarm is silent. I am not hearing the noise when I open the doors are close them. How can I activate this feature again?

Is the LED indicator illuminated steady (not flashing)? If it is, than the system is in valet mode. In order the turn off valet mode, you need to press and release the valet button once. The LED should turn off and you will be able to operate the security system.

I reeplaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel pressure regulator. thinking that was the problem! But was told that the alarm might be the problem so i pressed the alarm twic and the truck started but...

You must put the alarm on a valet mode to see if the alarm is causing this problem
To enter or exit Valet Mode
1. Turn the ignition on
2. Turn the ignition off
3. Press and release the valet switch within 10 seconds
The status Led will light solidly if you are entering valet mode, and it will go out if you are exiting valet mode.
To enter or exit Valet Mode using the transmitter:
1. Open any vehicle door.
2. Press and realese lock and unlock buttons at the same time
3. Press and realese Aux button
4. Press and realese the lock and unlock button at the same time again
The status led will light solidly if you are entering Valet Mode and it will go out if you are exiting Valet Mode
Now when in Valet Mode try to start the engine, if the problem persist the alarm has nothing to do with it

Doors lock and unlock, but system will not arm. also the red LED is on untill the car starts. How do I get my system back up and running?

The LED light is on solid until you start the vehicle. Sounds like the alarm is in valet mode. Try opening any door, press lock, unlock, lock. The LED light will go out if the system was in valet. For future reference, that is the process for "remote valet". If that does not work, turn igniton on then off, within ten (10) seconds, press and release the valet switch. The LED will go out if the system was in valet.

How to turn kill switch off and see manual and instructions

I am assuming that you want to disable the system temporarily by putting it in valet mode. You will need to locate the valet button; they are usually installed under the dash within reach of the driver. The button should be black and about 1/2" in diameter.
Pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds while the alarm is disarmed will put the system into valet mode. The system will turn the LED light on steady and chirp the siren to indicate that valet mode has been activated. To exit valet mode, press and release the button. The LED will turn off and the siren will chirp to indicate that you have exited valet mode.

I have a viper alarm on my car that wont shut off nor i cant start the car..and i have tried the button under my dash, how Can i shut it off??

was it a professional or shade tree install? the following is off vipers website:
disarming without a remote control
This feature allows you to disarm the security system without the
Remote Control should it be lost, damaged, or disabled. In order to
disarm the system without a remote remote control, you must have
the vehicle’s ignition key and know where the Valet button is
located. Be sure to check with the installer for the location and the
number of presses of the Valet button required to disarm the system.
To disarm the security system,
turn the ignition to the ON position.
Press the Valet button the
preset number of times (one to
five times) within 15 seconds. After five seconds the system will
disarm. If the system does not disarm, you may have waited too long;
turn the ignition off and on and try again.
if that doesn't work try this other

valet mode
You can prevent your security system from automatically arming
and triggering by using Valet Mode. This is very useful when
washing the vehicle or having it serviced. In Valet Mode, the
security system will not arm, even with the Remote Control, but
all convenience functions (door locks, trunk release, etc.) will
continue to work normally.
To enter or exit Valet Mode:
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Turn the ignition off.
3. Press and release the Valet
button within 10 seconds.
The status LED will light solidly if you are entering Valet Mode,
and it will go out if you are exiting Valet Mode.
