The switch does not stay down on my RHOK3123, and therefore it will not stay on. When I hold it down it works perfectly.

I have an Edinburgh (I think) kettle which I have been very happy with, but now the switch will not stay down, occasionally I make connection. What can be done?

The switch is operated on what is called a thermocouple - the most lightly problem is lime scale. Get some limescale remover from your local hardware. or you can use spirit vinegar and boil the kettle a couple of times. Give it a really good clean afterward or your coffee will taste awful! Good luck.

Dyson animal, have to hold ON switch for it to work

Pull the wand out of the Vac. Need to use a small Torx bit to take out 2 screws hidden behind the wand storage. Once screws are out, there are 4 push-clips which need to be un-latched. Pry the power panel off and you will expose the two switches (one for power, one for the brushes). Push the power switch down and it should "release" and go back to clicking when pushed. Re-assemble. Took about 5 minutes to fix.

On Off switch problem

Look under the kettle at the round circular connector in the bottom. Inside there is a small button that is depressed when the kettle is put on the base. If this is not pushed in far enough it will have problems.

The cause is that after some use the connector in the base plate collapses into the base by 1-2 mm This means the switch is not pushed in far enough.

My kettle had similar issues... I pulled the base plate apart (3 screws I think) and cut a round disk of plastic to lift the connector up by about 1-2mm and then reassembled the base.. No more issues
