Old type lever arm 9 kg cadac gas bottle is leaking on spindle when gas is turned on with key(lever). How do i fix this problem?

You need to take that whole bottle into an authorized service dealer to have it inspected and serviced. They have special strap clamps to hold the cylinder and tools to remove the valve. They are most likely going to replace the whole valve assembly and the valves is not serviceable or available. This is due to the chances of catastrophic failure

How to test for gas leaks at furnace or elsewhere

Using a liquid dish soap diluted with water put in a spray bottle, like a glass cleaner bottle, use a 3:1 ratio of water to soap. Have good lighting and spray all lines and special attention to all connections. pay close attention to any bubbling. If any bubbles form, turn off gas, unscrew pipes at fittings and using a pipe thread sealer "pipe dope" coat threads liberally and reconnect fittings tightly. Retest after opening the gas valve. Gas lines use a globe valve which are open when the slotted knob is parallel to the length of the line. Be very careful not to allow any open flames until it is certain that all leaks are repaired. Warning never attempt to connect gas pipes or fittings without Pipe thread sealer or Teflon tape ; if it doesn't leak immediately it is certian to do so! Use good judgement or pay a proffessional with liability insurance.

Gas valve wich way do I turn knob to install my Kenmore elite dryer

If a gate valve: Turn the valve clockwise to turn OFF the gas.
If a ball valve: Turn the valve handle perpendicular to the valve body to turn off the gas.

Install the dryer. Attach all lines.
Turn gas on.
Using a soap/water combination, spray all gas lines to check for leaks. If any bubbles form, then turn the gas off and seal all leaks.

If you do not know how to perform these functions safely, then pay a qualified technician to prevent a gas explosion.

What would cause a gas smell around a safety valve

IF you believe there is a serious leak get out and call the fire department. If not you can use soapy water in a spray bottle to check for leaks. Note that some regulators have small releases of gas when the diaphragm moves and this is normal.

Propane cylinder leaks

flick the little point as it may not be seating correctly. IF it still leaks attach the torch again and take it to a gas fitter and have it fixed . Remember that with gas what is in that little bottle can destroy you and your car if it is allowed to escape and ignite.

Just bought a new Jenn-Air grill and cant get the temp past 250. Any ideas what i am doing wrong?

First, check that all the gas lines and flame bars are clear of any 'things' or bugs. I had a similar problem with a Webber grill and found out my problem was with the gas bottle. The new Overflow Protection Valve required on LP bottles can closed off or severly slow the flow of gas when the bottle is full and the valve is opened quickly. It will let enough gas flow to light the grill but won't let the fire get high enough to heat the grill up. Turn all the valves off on the grill and gas bottle. Open the gas bottle valve slowly then turn on the grill burner and try lighting it. If the flame is still very low try again or you have to let it burn at the low level until the OPV float drops down and the valve doesn't impede the gas flow. The best way to avoid this in the future is to not fill the gas bottle to the top when you have it refilled. Just ask the LP attendent to not fill it all the way.

Hi, I have just bought a Weber 100 BBQ. I have a

You have a couple of questions. In order: 1. Flame may not be visible because it burns very clean. 2. When they say 'turn gas off', they actually mean 'turn gas tank off'. 3. It's not necessary to remove the tank after every use. Just make sure the gas valve is off and the entire grill and tank are covered. I do remove the tank, and store it in an outdoor shed during the winter.

My Q 120 grill will not produce a high enough flame with hose adapter for 20 pound lp tank , works fine with small tanks. I have had problem for several years. Have replaced adapter hose and regulator.

Often with a big bottle, people turn the gas off and on at the big bottle and leave the grill valve open. That makes the regulator see a low pressure on its output, which is a potential leak indication. It goes into "bypass". Try turning off the tank, turning off the grill valve, and turning on the tank, then waiting 20-ish seconds before turning the grill valve on.
