I have a MasterCool II evaporative cooler on my roof and the pad is getting partially wet. Can this be remedied?
1. Make sure the pump is getting plenty of water.
2. Make sure the pump is working.
3. Check the pvc pipe with drip holes are not plug. (above the pads )
4. Check the pads directional arrow that should be facing up. When pads are initially installed you can see arrows on the pads. The arrows should be in the up direction. That will allow the pads to get saturated more efficiently.
I hope these steps help you.
Jerry,
The tubes above the media pads are probably clogged with debris. The pump screens don't always keep out everything. You will have to disassemble the unit enough to be able to reverse flush the tubes and clear out the leaves, bugs, dirt, and sediment stuck in the drip holes above the pads. Short of that, a very small powerful stream of water at each hole might help. Go from each hole to the other end of the tube and back again - be through and maybe it will last more than one season. Be sure to disconnect the feed hose from the pump and place it outside the unit to drain the junk as you blow the tube out.
Information should be free.
