I have toshiba satellite x205-sli1 and when i turn it on the screen is black and it has 1 longer beep followed by 2 short beeps. It was working fine this morning and now it wont turn on. Any suggestions?
Check the memory modules. Test one at a time to see if any of them is damaged. If you have only one, try a borrowed chip, or test yur modules in a borrowed laptop (it doesn't have to be the same brand/model, only the chips must be the same speed).
I had a similar problem with my satellite notebook. the problem was that it was overheating. what i did was pull the processor and heat sink out, it was covered in dust and not allowing air to go through the heatsink. i just cleaned it up and it stopped overheating.

Memory problem: Sometimes when the computer is moved or over time a memory stick can become loose causing the computer to be unable to read the memory or get errors as it's reading it. Try fixing this issue by opening the computer removing each of the memory sticks you have in the computer and then placing them back into the computer. If you have more than one stick of memory try removing all but one stick of memory and boot the computer. If this does not resolve the issue try removing that stick of memory and try one of the other sticks of memory. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response Thanks, Joe
