As many suggest, the tE error means there is a thermistor error. On my machine, simply unplugging the machine, tipping the machine backwards (careful! ... I put a few blocks under the front legs so I could work under the machine)...and the thermistor was under the drum, with a 2-wire lead going to it. It was easy to unplug, tighten the plug (squeezing the connector), plugging it back in. The machine has now worked fine ever since this simple procedure with no failures.

SOURCE: LG Tromm washer WM2688HWM tE error code. Very easy

LG Tromm Washing machine te error. The manual says to call for service. Not much help there. The reason for the error is the thermistor circuit (resistive element that becomes less resistive as it increases in temperature). The thermistor acts as a heat sensor. In many cases, the error occurs because the wireing harness is too tight at the bottom of the drum and one of the wires in this circuit becomes disconnected with all of the movement of the drum (unbalanced load, normal cylcing etc).

1. Unplug the washing machine from the wall. The thermistor circuit is at line voltage (110 in the U.S.) and it will bite! So do this first before proceeding.

2. Move the washer out so you can get access to the back of it.

3. Remove the stainless panel (the one that is not painted, it is large (aprox. 16x18 inches). It is held in place by 4 phillips screws.

4. Locate the thermistor connection block near the bottom of the machine, at the center of the wash drum. It is the small white connector that has two wires running to it. One wire is dark blue, the other is light blue. Insure that neither wire has pulled out of the connector. If either of them have, repair the connector and provide enough extra wire ( aprox. 2") to provide cable relief.

5. If the cable connector and wires are ok, there are other solutions here that recommend either cleaning or replacing the thermistor.

Good luck to you.

I do not have a solution, but have the same exact problem and would like to know if you ever found out where the thermistor is and if you were able to fix it.

Thank you,

SOURCE: washer is showing "TE" error even after replacing the thermistor

Try pressing spin speed and soild level at the same time. Is the temperature about 10 degrees C over the the selected temperature? If no, then try replacing the main board.

Also make sure the thermister isn't loose. That could cause your problem.

If the main board doesn't fix it, then you have to replace the heater assembly.

Im actually looking the the service manual your unit as we speak.

SOURCE: Error code LE on front load LG washer

This is a motor fault code. Sometimes it can be just a communication error, in which case you can try unplugging the machine for 20 minutes and see if it clears the problem up. More likely it is a fault in the motor itself. The most likely culprit would be a defective hall sensor. I will attach a photo of the sensor for you to see what it looks like. To access and replace the hall sensor, you have to remove the rotor and stator at the motor. Before going to this trouble, try the unplugging thing first and also check the connector on the main control board. It is the red connector next to the heat sink2.gif. Using a multimeter, check that the board is receiving a signal from the sensor. Hope this helps and best wishes.

Lg front load washer error le thermal overload circuit in mmotor

If the error code is "LE" then replace the hall/position sensor on the motor, if the error code is "tE" which looks a lot like LE at a causal glance then replace the thermistor that measures the water temp located on the bottom of the outer drum in front.

I have a Lg WM2277HW front load washer. I replaced P/N 6501KW2002 (hall sensor), unfortunately still recieving error code LE. I even ran normal wash cycle no spin and 3 rinse and spins w/ no spin to...

Make sure hall sensor is snapped in to correct location and is secure. Take a look at repair videos from repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com for guidance. And the error code is "LE" for sure not "tE" which is sometimes confused between the two.

Getting a "te" error code -- a heating issue?

I had the tE or te error (an L with a line through it) error on my LG front loader and my local appliance store sold me the thermistor for $7. I layed the unit on its side and accessed the thermistor through the bottom. It plugs into the bottom of the tank. Blue and white wires. No screws and 1 tie-wrap. (Leave the rubber grommet in - just pull the thermistor rod out.) Works like a champ!

Te code is showing up. how do i fix this

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

The te code means a defective thermistor. but thermistors rarely fail in LG washers.

The most likey cause of the "te" error is:

1) Loose wiring at the control panel (directly behind the CYCLE SELECTOR KNOB)
2) Broken wire at the THERMISTOR (located at the bottom /front of the tub)

Test the washer. If the "te" error still occurs--it will be neccesary to remove the FRONT PANEL as well (two sets of special plier-type tools are needed).

Inspect the THERMISTOR closely--with good lighting. If there's a break in the wire it will be at or near the black sheathing / heat shrink material.

I have a front load LG washing machine. Its two years old and it stopped working today and it is giving a code of TE on the read out. what does this mean? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

TE is a Thermistor error.

This can be a shorted Thermistor and or a bad heater element. These items are located at the front bottom of the washer's tub.

If you have a washer with steam function. It could also be the steam generator's thermistor and or a bad heater element. The steam generator is located just behind the dispenser’s housing on the top left side.

I can get you part numbers is you need them.

Malfunction code tE

TE error code stands for thermistor error. You have to remove the front panel and ohm out the heating element. If you have continuity most likely it will be fine. There is a thermistor located next to the heating element that will probably need to be replaced. LG's are the only machine besides GE ref's that I have ever seen thermistors go bad on. There is probably an ohm reading you should get through the thermistor but unless you have an analog meter or a fluke most standard digitals wont read into mega-ohms. Removing the front panel is model specific. But i can tell you the spring around the front boot (drum gasket) needs to be removed and there will be some hidden screws at the bottom by the pump where the access panel is located.

Hope this helps _MJ_

tE error code means the thermistor has failed.  That part is located in the front of the drum next to the heater element.
