Kenmore fridge 10656788602 side by side. landlord bought from some used appliance place. took fridge 2 days for water from dispenser to reach proper temerature. fridge section stayed a proper temp for 1 day after ( day 3 ) day 4 and 5 had to keep cranking up temp control on fridge section to maintain cold. by end of day 5 it was 58-62 in fridge. since day 1 green filter status light flashing green. wont reset. ice dispenser did not work from day 1. freezer was working but now day 5 freezer not making ice and italian ice slushy because freezer now at 18-25 degrees. turn up thermostat on freezer section. freezer temp not going down any more, but now fridge section at 65 degrees. please help.

Where you hook the house water line is to the water inlet valve which is a one in two out solonoid controlled valve. One side goes to the water dispenser in the door and the other hooks to the ice maker connection.

So I suspect the long water line you are talking about has had the lines switched at the valve and needs reversed. The long line probably goes up the back of the unit and connects to the ice maker. The one for the water dispenser should hook to the water chiller resevoir and then to the water dispenser.

Yes water valve can go bad. Can you post model # and can get you a manual.

Your problem may be with the dispenser electronic control board. This is an issue that should be handled by an appliance service company.

Try opening the doors and moving it through the doorway with the doors open? If you have the room twisting the fridge around the doorway with the doors open my work.

there are two water inlet valves on the back of refrigerator, one for icemaker the other for water in door. the valve for the water inlet is plugged or the soelinoid coil is bad. replace faulty valve, usually about 20 to 30 greenbacks at the appliance parts store

is possible that the plastic tube that leeds in the pan is obstructed or in a wrong position, check if water goes in the pan just put some water trought from the inside hole in the fridge and check if it reach the pan, maybe the inclination of the fridge is not sufficient, ( it has to be inclined to the wall direction so the water slides on the back inside wall of the fridge. can also be poor insulation of the fridge, so the outside surfaces come wet because of the hight air temperature outside and the cold surfaces of the fridge, then the water slides down the floor...make sure about air ventilation around the fridge!...I hope it was useful!

Check for the thermostat

at the very least replace that water filter.clogged water filter will reduce water pressure to the line.

How to remove the speaker from a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator. 
Our Kenmore Elite fridge has been beeping since we bought our house 9 months ago. There's nothing apparently wrong with it, the filters have been replaced etc. Sears said it would be a minimum of $300 to replace the electric panel (and my thought was that whatever is causing it could happen again!). We were ready to buy a new fridge.
Tools:  thin spatula or hand held flat razor (for scraping paint) flat screwdriver  soldering iron
I pried open the water dispenser with a razor thin spatula (i began with just my hands). the electronics then turned off. When the dispenser came completely off an electronic board dangled down. 
On the board is the word 'buzzer' with two soldered points, underneath was a round black object, obviously the speaker. My husband and decided that if we pried the speaker off with just a screw driver, it may break the whole board. So we got out the soldering iron and one at a time, heated both soldering points labeled "buzzer." As each heated we used the screwdriver to pry the speaker off the board. 
The speaker gently slipped off the board into our hands. We placed the board back in its place and snapped the water dispenser cover back into place. The whole thing took 2 minutes. The electronic lights all came back on the dispenser. Everything works perfectly. There's one less beep in our house!

Sounds like you have a defrost problem. The timer could be playing up and taking too long to defrost, which causes the evaporator to ice up, hence no cold air to the fridge and the water line freezes up, hence no water dispensed. When the timer does eventually defrost the fridge then everything returns to normal. This could also be caused by a faulty defrost terminator or bad connection on the defrost element.
