Before and after the installation of our new fridge, ice cubes made in both the old unit and now the new one taste like chemicals. Tap water tastes fine. changed the piping and still have bad taste but only in the ice.
Put a in-line water filter on the water line if you want. The taste is from the food and items you have in the refrigerator. Clean it out and keep your items in proper storage. Ice collects the smells in the line and the fridge. Change your ice that is sitting in the bin, wask out the bin with water and baking soda. Hope this helps.

i have a similar problem. I had a leak in the water supply line from the wall to the frig. I bought a new line and now the water (from door dispenser) and the ice has a chenical/chlorine taste. I tested the water from the wall and from the new line and both of them taste fine. It is occurring somewhere inside the frig.
This exactly happened to us. Solution??
