When started, pump functions to drain, but, does not stop and start to fill--after a period of this, the door stays locked with all lights flashing. Essentially, the machine does not cycle correctly.

    Hi Mike73,

The cycle is set to Normal. the machine power is pushed. the start button then pushed. the pump starts as usual (i presume as a safety feature) but instead of then cycling to the sequence that you asked me about (where the basket turns slowly, etc) instead the machine stops and all the green lights start flashing. In other words, the cycle stops.  I tried filling some water into the basket to see if the pump was mal-functioning. the water drained out nicely. I tried disconnecting power for 2 minutes. not it.

  • tksvt Apr 27, 2009

So, do I get a technician to do the repair?

  • tksvt Apr 28, 2009

sounds like this is the problem. by the way, this machine does not have a display where an error code can flash, so, that piece of the puzzle is harder to descipher. thank you so much for the advice.

drain pump continues to run while filling? try reseting unit byunplugging and replugging after 1 min. then starting a cycle, note what happens. door lock, basket turns slow, sound from dispenser motor and small clicks - stops, then fills briefly door unlock, door relock etc.

Ok, sounds like you should be seeing an error code flashing in the display with the lights. this will be an F followed by a number. or letter abbrev. like dL
With the pump starting with a new cycle started and draining but you get this light sequence (error) I believe the problem would be that it is seeing water in the tub and not seeing it leave, like a pressure sw problem.

  • Anonymous Apr 28, 2009

if it is the pressure sw then that is one of the easiest fixes in the machine. its a $19 part and is mounted right up top . when you pull back top cover you see it on the right side clipped in turn it sideways and it comes right off. a tech will charge a lot more. did you see a code flash? sears site gives the breakdown of the machine. look at the 'top and cabinet' parts section

no display, then this is not really a he2 then is it, I am guessing it is one of the frigidaire made kenmores, all whirlpool made models have displays (except a european one that is rarely sold and not under the kenmore name). not much changes here except that to get your code, options and pause/cancel together gets service mode, the tech sheet in the machine bottom explains how to read the codes on this type. remove lower kick panel and look on side wall sometimes in manilla envelope.

I have an old Indesit washing machine .Last night I put it on and went out .When I cam eback the Door lock light waqs falshing . Iturned the dial and off it went again from the start only to findthe l

It sounds as though the pressure chamber is blocked which is holding the pressure switch in the on position and in this situation the valves will stay energised. If you don't know where the chamber is then locate the pressure switch and follow the small bore hose from it down under the tub and it will take you to the chamber, remove it and clean it out don't just remove the hose and blow through the hole because this will only work for a few washer before it blocks again

Hoover nextra washing machine door wont lock / cycle start

sounds like the door lock mechanism. if this cannot signal it has engaged, to the board, no other function will work (you don't want the washer going with the door open, trust me :) )

My Kenmore front load washer will not fill--it sounds like it is draining instead. The last load washed did not spin correctly and the clothes were very wet when cycle completed.

Washer Not Filling:

  • Door Not Closed and Locked
    • Front load washers won't fill if the door is not closed and locked. Listen for the door locking when starting a cycle, then pull on the door to make sure the door is closed and locked.
  • Delayed Start Feature
    • Some washers have a delay prior to filling, where the electronic control is checking the dispenser function. This is Normal.
  • Flashing Lights or Error Code on Display
    • When there is a filling issue, the washer may shut off and display one of the following codes: LF, LE, nF, IE, FH, E10 or F20.
    • If the washer is displaying one of the above error codes, then do the hard reset procedure listed below.

If the appliance is not accepting input from the control panel, follow the steps below to reset the control:

  1. Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
  2. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet or turn the breaker back on and wait 30 seconds.
  3. Press the Pause / Cancel / Stop button twice to clear the display.
  4. Start a short cycle, to check operation of the appliance, by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the appliance starts.

The door will not go to lock,I push the start button it will run for 2seconds,then it will stop and flashes pause, their is a small piece that broke off the bottom of the lock, but the door seems to shut...

these elctronic controls can become problems to troubleshoot sometimes. however the normal operation on this model when you power up is it will drainn first or try to drain any water left in bottom to make sure you have fresh water. then the door will lock prior to it filling with water... i would first try to look at drain pump and hose to drain and make sure no obstruction and that drain pumpp is working properly... if all looks good and your sure drain pump is ok then look at the door lock mechanism as it could have failed... repost with anymore questions ,but willing to bet the drain pump is the culprit...

WFW9200SQA12 F22 code problem

The problem you are experiencing is a Long Drain error. You need to check the drain pump reservoir and drain lines for obstructions. the following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385845-checking_drain_pump_in_whirlpool_duet

If cleaning the pump does not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer that you replace it. It does not take much to permanently damage these small pumps. If anything has been lodged in the intake if the pump for any significant period of time, the motor and/or impeller may become damaged. This results in a pump they "appears" to be running, but may not be pumping anything.

In addition, check the drain hose that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the intake side of the drain pump. I have personally found small articles of clothing lodged in this area blocking the drain pump. Garments bags are highly recommended for small articles to prevent this.

I hope you find this information helpful. if you require additional assistance, please let me know.

GE WCVH6260 stops unexpectantly

Try buttons "dry" & "spin" together for a few seconds. This is the child lock display.

Or press "end of cycle" for over 5 seconds.

Or press "options & select" till the light goes off.

Works for other machines..............And please rate me if helped.

Check your drain with a good pour of water from a bucket, it must clear fast. It it doesn't snake it out; the prob lies there 99%. And don't push your exit hose too deep into the standpipe, 4 to 5 inches & not air tight.
