I have a 24cc two stroke petrol engine on a garden strimmer. for some reason I do not know why it would not start. I stripped down the carburettor and cleaned it.It now srarts ok but as soon as I put the choke to run it stalls, and if I use the accellerator it also stalls. Is there someone who can advise me what the problem might be. Thanks George Face. [email protected]

TO MIX THE FUELSee Figure 3.? The product is powered by a 2-stroke engine and requires pre-mixing petrol with2-stroke oil. Pre-mix unleaded petrol and 2-stroke engine oil in a clean containerapproved for petrol.? The engine is certified to operate on unleaded petrol intended for automotive usewith an octane rating of 91 ([R+M]/2) or higher.? Do not use any type of pre-mixed petrol/oil from fuel service stations, such asthe pre-mixed petrol/oil intended for use in mopeds, motorcycles, etc. Do not useautomotive oil or 2-stroke outboard oil.? Use only synthetic 2-stroke oil.? Mix 2% of synthetic 2-stroke oil into the petrol. This is a 50:1 ratio
If this is the carb with the purge bulb on the base of the carb, then the fuel hose fits on the lower coupling, the other is the return to tank coupling.
it is a petrol engine and the carby listed indicates that it is a 2 stroke
the oil /fuel mix ratio is 50:1 with a fuel octane rating of 91 ( do not use e-mix fuels ) recommended oil from the manufacturer specifications is a synthetic 2 stroke oil
Brand of manufactured oil optional
If it is 2 stroke, take petrol /fuel and mix it with preferably synthetic2 stroke oil.
Ratio is usually 10L petrol mixed with 200 ml or 2 stroke oil, that is the best result, used it on my chainsaw, strimmer, moped, working for years without a glitch.
40:1 ratio is the norm, up to 50:1, you can get a 40:1 ratio mix by adding 2.5 cc of 2 stroke oil to 1 litre of petrol. Make sure you do not use car engine oil, it must be special 2 stroke oil which is what they sell for old lawn mowers and strimmers etc. If your exhuast is smoking then you put in too much oil so add more petrol...
The carburettor jets needs cleaning.
A common problem for 2 stroke engines left unused for a couple of months.or so.
After being unused the petrol evaporates but the oil does not. So the oil clogs the jets. The long term fix is to run the unit out of fuel .then there is no oil in the carburettor to clog jets when you start it again.
This applies to all 2 stroke engines.
I have a flymo 430 petrol strimmer and cannot start it. ive cleaned the filter, put in new plug it went first time and then stopped and wont start again the plug seems to get wet all the time any ideas
I think the model your speaking of is the RBC30. It is a 2 stroke mixture. The 430 models are 4 stroke and do not require mixing oil and fuel. They are made by Ryobi for Makita.
