Need the driver for a SMARTDISK model FDUSB-B2 external floppy disk drive unit for a old Gateway Windows 98 computer

Since it is a USB device, does Windows 98 automatically load the device-driver when it is connected? If not, connect to the Internet, and run Windows Update (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com) and let it scan for updates. When it completes, look at the "optional" updates -- there may be a device-driver that can be downloaded.

Rebuilt XP computer to Windows 7 and need driver to use SmartDisk CF500

That is only possible if smart disk wrote a windows 7 driver or if they wrote a windows vista driver that is compatible with windows 7. You need to go to their website for driver support.

Change you usb port or replace the smartdisk's usb cable, probably the current one if broken. Also restart the pc whilst the smartdisk is connected. It shd be recognised now.
