This has to do with the document printing properties. When you are ready to print a document, choose properties and make sure you go through the printer settings under that software.
The test page only verifies the cartridges. The printer properties of the software control the printer during printing.

Sounds like the drum unit is damaged. Replace it. I mean not only the toner unit but the whole thing. Remember never touching these...

There is a known issue for these printers to "streak." If under warranty, call Dell. If not, there is a fix
for the defective drum unit design but requires a little technical expertise.

many dells take proprietary power supplies. if you are using an aftermarket power supply, then you may have burned out your mobo. irregardless, your mobo may be dead, and that mey be the very problem.

Dell 3000 CN has no printheads, printheads are on inkjet printers, this is a color laser.

On a laser there is nothing that you can clean with a software.

If printer is not printing replace toner cartridge or try reinstalling drivers.

You have to buy additional memory from Dell.

download Gassan-Mac-9-MR2RC2.sit from dell site (printer site, drivers, mac os) and unpack it with stuffit expander.
it contains drivers for mac os 9 and mac os x.
then just install it and select driver from the list when adding modifying printer
