What you most likely have is dried out capacitors in the power supply. When you un-plugged the set and everything had a chance to discharge, the capacitors in question could not charge up again, causing the problem you have. Any local service center should not have a problem repairing it. I do them all day long. It might not be very old, however, the power supply runs 24/7 as long as you have it plugged in to a live outlet. I tell customers to connect it to a switched outlet, meaning when you turn off the light switch that particular outlet is dead, creating longevity for the power supply.

this seems to be the problem I am having as well with the same model number. I moved the tv a few months ago to another location and it was working ok as long as i unplugged it and plugged it back in about 5 mins later. We had a powr outage the other day and now I am not able to turn it on at all, but red power light remains on (not blinking or anything). I tried unplugging it for about 48hrs but still nothing. Do you happen to know if this is expensive to fix or should I just buy a new tv. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
