test the 1) fuse heat and replace it 2) test the board if there are voltage , if there are the board can be faulty or repair. 3) see your instruc. manual go to the section troubleshooting and see what is wrong. God bless you
No need to dismantle the iron. Just fill it with a 50/50 white vinegar/distilled water solution and allow the iron to expel all of it as steam. Rinse with distilled water and allow to pass as steam. If you use distilled water from now on, you should no longer have staining problems. Hope this helps!
The Thermostat has gone faulty. This can be replaced if you can get the parts. You need to contact, B&D indicate your problem, and exact, make and model, and inquire as to where you can purchase the parts, or if you do not wish to do it yourself, where to send it for repair.

We have had two D2020 Black&Decker Irons that did exactly the same thing. I love the iron...but they have both lasted about 2 months before burning!
