How to reset red lite on water filter,on front offrig

Most have a reset button you have to push for 3 second some you press the lite switch 5 times

There should be a button by the filter light,push in 5 times within 10 seconds and it should reset.Hope this helps,if so give us a vote .THANKS

There should be a reset button for the water filter. After replacing the flter, ensure that there is no air in the line. You may need to bleed the line

Page 20 shows how to unlock the dispenser and reset the filter light and I have pasted them here.

There are products at Lowes or Home Depot near the appliance for odor removal, I like to put a bowl of cotton balls on a couple of shelves, soak the cotton in vanilla once a day. The odors will be gone in a couple of days.

To lock dispenser:

Filter reset

The filter status indicator light
serves as a reminder to replace the
water filter. A green light indicates that
the filter is in good condition. A red light
indicates the filter should be changed.
Once light turns red, it will remain red
until function is reset.
To reset indicator:
➢ Press and hold both DISPENSER
LOCK and WATER buttons
simultaneously for 4 seconds. The
green filter status indicator light will
flash 3 times when the function has
successfully reset.

Try holding both buttons on either side of the filter lite in until lite goes off . May be the answer . If not off in about 15 seconds , wrong answer .

Hi: I don't know if you have the manual, but you have to hold down the lock button down for several seconds to release it. That how it works. I hope this helps and you don't need service. As a last resort unplug the fridge for an hour ( don't open it in the interim) then plug it back in and see if it resets. I hope this helps, Jeff

you will wither have to push the light switch button 5 times or push and hold reset button or 2 at a time. Look at the display carefully it usually will tell you what you need to do

the filter is located in the front of the unit just below the freezer door whirlppol has 2 filter options one has a push button next to the round filter cartridge that whne pushed releases the filter. the other option is a twist out filter simply turn 1/4 tun counter cloclkwise and the filter will come right out.

after replacing filter run aprox 1/2 gal of water to clear air and remember to reset filter monitor according to your owners manual
