I purchased the Kenmore Elite washer approximately five years ago. I have had no problems with it operating. However, since purchasing this washer I have ruined almost everything white I owned and avoid...

There has been many reports of complaints regarding this problem and it was found out that the gray spots on white clothing are caused by the fabric softener. The Kenmore Elite is a "highly efficient" machine that it uses very minimal amount water when washing and rinsing. The minimal use of water results in the fabric softener not being diluted completely and eventually makes gray spots on white clothing. The ridiculous solution to this problem, as Sears "advised" is not using fabric softener for white clothing. But you may also try putting the fabric softener in a small plastic bowl just enough to hold it and place it inside the machine prior to the final rinse. Using only the suggested amount of detergent and avoiding the use of detergent powder with speckles reduces the possibility spot occurrences in your while clothing.

Kenmore elite washing machine is causing rust spots on clothing.

You have a chip in your inner tub where yor clothes are washing. Find the spot and get some porcelain repair at the hardware store and cover the chipped spot.

Im getting spots on my clothes when they come out of the wash and they wont wash out. We dont have oily clothes and use the right about of detergent and softner. What would cause the oil looking spots...

Those spots are the results of undissolved soaps built up in the machine over a period of time. Very possibly to much soap is being used on each wash as well. It creates a thick film around the inner drum that eventually breaks away and deposits itself on the clothes in small quantities. To remove, that could be costly, so the next best thing to do would be to run at least 2 hot washes a day without clothes until soap eventually dissolves. It will take a period of time.until particles clear.

Spots on clothes

By spots I'm guessing that this is a permanent mark on the cloth. If that's the case, you are possibly putting concentrated liquid bleach into the machine...it is being added and causing the spots. Solution is to dilute the bleach or other concentrated cleaner. If you're adding it manually through a hopper...add it later in the cycle.

If the spots are black...you may have a bearing leak into the machine. Repair is a big job.

Grease spots and stains

Yes you can. Remember a front loader has no gearbox so no oil is coming from there? fabric conditioner, washing powder, and oils from our bodys can build up on the tub walls. All it needs is a good flush out. You can use dishwashing powder. Run it through with no clothes in you washing machine on a hot wash or a wash and hold a couple of times to flush it out. NZL
