What is Sauna There are more than 1 million saunas of various sizes serving 5 million Finns in Finland. In Europe and the United States, the ownership per 100 people is one-tenth that of Finland. With the development of science and technology in Japan, the ownership of Hong Kong and Taiwan is greatly increasing, while the ownership of the mainland is still very small,

"A sauna is a small room or house designed as a place to experience dry or wet heat sessions, or an establishment with one or more of these and auxiliary facilities.
A sauna session can be a social affair in which the participants disrobe and sit or recline in temperatures typically between 70 degrees C (158 degrees F) and 100 degrees C (212 degrees F). This induces relaxation and promotes sweating.
Saunas can be divided into two basic styles: conventional saunas that warm the air or infrared saunas that warm objects. Infrared saunas may use various materials in their heating area such as charcoal, active carbon fibers, and other materials."

What are the Benefits of Using a Sauna?

When some people hear the word sauna, they just think of exotic spas and holidays but most swimming pools now have saunas, not to mentions countless private homes.
What are the possible benefits of using a sauna?

1. The most well known one is weight loss. Saunas make you sweat and because your body has to expend calories in order to make sweat, it's an easy way to burn calories.
2. Helping your skin - heavy sweating allows your face to shed impurities and dead cells which can help with skin tone, ealsticity and cleansing of the sweat ducts.
3. Pain relief for joints and muscles - because the heat in a sauna helps your blood vessels to dilate, some people find the heat brings pain relief to tissue, muscle and joint injuries.
4. Improves blood circulation. Your body produces sweat in order to cool down. This encourages your heart to pump blood at a faster rate and therefore boosts circulation.
5. Finally, saunas are also good for detoxification. Many toxins such as pollutants and other substances that we unknowingly carry around in our bodies, are sweated out in the sauna.

In summary, saunas can be a great way to improve your health but it's best to check with your doctor before you start using one.

Sauna Heater

Oil and Gas Sauna Heaters

Oil and gas heaters are the least popular heaters used in saunas.
One reason is because they're relatively inefficient compared to the others.
Some people even complain about the odor associated with the burning fuel. If they're properly vented, oil and gas heaters should have little or no unpleasant smell

Electric Sauna Heaters

Electric heaters are the most popular used in saunas.
They're easy to control with user friendly touch pads that include a timer and thermostat, and light switch,
They're also efficient and cost just pocket change to operate.
Electric heaters have controls that include a timer, thermostat, and light switch.

Wood Burning Sauna Heaters

If you have a house in the country or easy access to fire wood, a wood burning heater is a great choice for a sauna.
A wood heater may also be a good choice if you have an outdoor sauna.

Sauna wont get hot enough

When I'm in a traditional sauna like this, I expect the temperature to be between 70 and 90C so that's what I assume you are trying to reach. There could be several reasons for this so make sure each point is checked:
1. Stating the obvious, to increase the temperature inside the sauna, you'll have to ladle water onto the hot sauna stones.
2. Maybe the insulation within your sauna isn't good enough and heat is escaping.
3. Your sauna room could be too big for this heater to heat properly.
4. Maybe the element on the heater isn't performing properly and needs to be replaced.

These were some pointers which Di Vapor gave as possible reasons for lack of heat.

What is the difference between a sauna and a Turkish bath?

Saunas can reach different levels of humidity, and accordingly, they are set at different temperatures.
A traditional sauna is between 70 and 100 degrees Celsius, while a Turkish bath, in order to approach the wanted 100% humidity, has a temperature of around 40 degrees to compensate the steam.

Ive got a nordic sauna with a 13 amp plug, but

Unless you have "Nordic Mini 3" for 240 V, all other types of Nordic sauna are more than 5000 Watt which means that their rated current for 240V is more than 30 A. For 120V it is two times more.

I don't know your type of Nordic, the rating of the fuse and what voltage are you using, but it may be less than the needed rating. Check the rated voltage and current of your sauna heater.

If your voltage is equal to the rated and the rated current of the sauna heater is less than the rating of the blown fuse, you may have short in a part of the heater.
