I have a 1GB corsair SD flash card with photos; only 75% deleted and I get a write protection message. Its used in Lumix DMC-FZ20 and it shows no photos on card but the PC shows 25% full. How do I...

just format it and if you want your data then,
All you have to do is:

Step One:
To save data, use EASEUS Data Recovery software (free version - 1GB of datarecovery). how:
1. Download and install EASEUS Data Recovery
2. Choose Complete Recovery - Next
3. Choose the drive micro SD - Next
4. Save the data to the hard disk (max. 1GB)
5. Because of your micro SD 2GB, repeat the process of recovery (repeat step 2, 3,4)
After all data is secure, do the process of removing the micro SD password

Step Two:
The first alternative - use the software HP Drive Key Boot Utility
1. Download and install the software HP Drive Key Boot Utility
2. Then, double click the file cp006049.exe
3. If you are using Win XP, double click the file cp006049.exe - select Install.
4. If you are using Win Vista or Seven, double click the file cp006049.exe - selectextrack.
5. Then, open the program "HP Drive Key Boot Utility or hpdkbu.exe" - Next - selectdrive - Next - Create new or replace exiting configuration - Next - Hard drive - Next -Create new file system - Next - wait until the process is completed - Next - Finish.
6. Remove the micro SD from the USB port, then insert it again.
7. Quick format micro SD (FAT file system)
8. Restore all data, to the micro SD.

The second alternative - use software HDD Low Level Format Tool
1. Download and install HDD Low Level Format Tool
2. Select micro SD - Continue
3. Click S.M.A.R.T - click Get Smart Attributes
4. Click LOW LEVEL FORMAT - click Format this device
5. Wait until the process is complete - press OK
6. Remove the micro SD from the USB port, then insert it again.
7. Quick format micro SD (FAT file system)
8. Restore all data, to the micro SD.

I hope this information helps. Thank you for using FixYa!

All accidentally deleted.

I would suggest you "NOT" to copy anymore files on your SD Card to prevent data loss or data corruption. Stop using it immediately.
Download an undelete program such as Undelete Plus. I think its a free download. and run the
program to recover your pictures. If you attempt to continue to use your SD Card you are at
higher risk of loosing your data.

Write protected

1.Look for a switch or button on the side of the micro SD card or adapter. It might have a lock/unlock symbol on it. 2.Move the switch to the "Unlocked" position to remove write protection. This position may also be labeled "R/W" for read/write. If you have no switch, continue to Step 3. 3.Download and install Sony EzRecover (see Resources for link) and attempt to use it to format the card (this will erase all content). If this doesn't work, try Step 4. 4.Delete and repartition the micro SD card using Windows XP. Select "Control Panel" > "Administrative Tools" > "Disk Management." Select the micro SD drive and click "Delete." Right-click on empty drive and select "New Partition."

My pny 2gb micro sd memory card is write-protected, i couldn't store or delete any files. what should i do? pls help me.

First check to see if it has a slide bar any where on the card itself to lock/unlock.

second download and install Sony EzRecover....

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/Other-DRIVERS-TOOLS/Others/Sony-EzRecover.shtml

and use it to format the card (which will erase all data).
If that doesn't work select Control Panel --> Administrative Tools--> "Disk Management. Select the micro SD drive and click Delete. Right-click on empty drive and select New Partition.
