An F-05 error message means that the pressure switch is jammed on empty or a problem with pump. The fault is associated with drain out (pump blocked or restricted in some way). Small panel at rear of machine reveals the pump, pull of the two pipes (Plastic clips hard to get off, slide them sideways), remove wire and unclip pump from base of machine by lifting locking tab and sliding to the left, pump can then easily be cleaned.

Absolutely BRIlLIANT, cant thank you enough. It was a hair grip in the pump... just needed cleaning out. Saved us a small fortune!

Brilliant - thanks!! Balanced our machine on 4 tins of beans so that we could get a basin underneath to catch the flood and found a Royal Mail elastic band wrapped around the pump!!

Found this on my first go and it was realy useful. Just be careful when you pull off the two pipes as you will be up to your ankles in water hee hee just like I was DOH!!!!

Works fine now thanks again!

Great advice. That sorted the problem. And it made me £2.05 !!!
Yeah just undo the big jubilee clip, pull the big black hose down, take out whatever's blocking it, put the hose back on...and voila!!!
Thanks Gigwiggin...topman.

SOURCE: error code f 05

this worked for me and I made 25p for the trouble:
First empty the machine by lowering the hose at the rear to ground level into a container. Take off the white plastic cover on rear at bottom. You will see black rubber hose connected to barrel of machine in right hand corner. Undo the silver screw on the band securing the hose. (Biggest band). You can now pull the hose down to reveal a "table tennis like" ball. Lift it out carefully and you will probably find an obstruction like a coin or similar. I found a hairgrip but it was enough to stop the ball functioning. DO NOT TAKE OFF THE WHITE HOSE CLIPS
Comment by pulmicort, posted on Feb 02, 2008 Further to my comments re clearing scrap from table tennis ball after code F4. Machine started ok but then F5 came up. Had to take the pump off and apart to reveal broken hairclip actually seized in pump. If you are handy at all this is simplicity itself.
Slide pump to left and lift and it comes clear. Take off 2 black hoses only where connected to main machine. Pull off electrical connection. Pump and hoses lift out easily. 3 screws open the pump. Clean any obstruction and reassemble. A 30 minute operation.

Wd640 problem not pumping out f-05

Error code means pressure switch jammed on full.
Remove lower rear panel of washer
Remove large black hose fastened to bottom of drum
Remove and clean filter inside hose.
Remove hose on to pump and check for blockage or obstruction here as well
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.
