THE BATTERY LIGHT CONTINUSLY SCROLLS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND CHAIR WILL NOT MOVE

Turn on Joystick and push horn twice, you are in locked mode. If this didn't work then turn Joystick on push gimbal forward until you hear a beep, then move the gimbal back until it beeps you are now unlocked. Gimbal= what you push to go left right forward or back on a joystick.

The chair is locked. I had this happen a long time ago and I needed to move the joy stick diferent directions to get it unlocked but I do not remember how. It is a Jazzy 1113.

If it is the older VSI controller, turn on chair. as the battery lights scroll, hold the joystick in the (UP) position until you hear a beep. Then immediately place the joystick in the (down) position until you hear a beep. then place the joystick in center position, once you hear the beep for the final time, it should be unlocked.

If you have a Dynamic controller, turn on chair then press the horn button to unlock.

take the freewheel levers and move them up and down a few times then leave them both in the up position. Turn on the chair and see if it works correctly The noise you hear are the motors or motor running because one or both levers are in freewheel. The clicking you hear is the electric brakes engaging when you move the joystick Hope this helps

Bought brand new batteries. have power, but chair will not move. Chair been out of use for approx 5 years.

Zim When you turn the power on and all the lights on the battery level are lit and you move the joystick forward Do you hear a clicking sound coming from the motors? You are not getting any flashes on the lights? If you don't hear the electric brakes energize or click when you move the joystick then they are probably stuck to the motor housing. Try putting the chair in freewheel and trying to push it like a manual chair. It should roll freely. If it doesn't then the brakes are stuck and you won't get any sort of error code. I don't know what brand of chair you have so I can't tell you what steps to take to free up the brakes. Try rocking the chair back and forth to freeup the brake pads when you have it in freewheel If you are mechanically inclined you can take the brakes off the back of the motors and try to unstick the pads but be careful not to break the wiring from the motor harness to the brakes. Let me know if this helps

If an electric wheelchair got wet or water on the joy stick will it damage it?

I guess it depends on hw wet. Yes water can damage your chair especially the joystick. It can cause the circuit board in the joystick to short out. If the chair's motors get submersed in water then it can short out the motor but it will cause rust to build up in the motor case and also cause the electric brakes to seize then the chair won't move. If you got light water on the joystick wipe it off quickly and you should be ok. If the joystick comes on and you can still drive the chair then you are ok. I always tell folks to carry a plastic shopping bag in your chair in case you get caught in a shower just cover the joystick and you can still drive the chair with the bag over the joystick. Hope this helps you

The speed control light goes back and fourth on the console.

If the lights are chasing left to right then you are in inhibit mode meaning a charger is attached or there is a problem in the joystick with the inhibit functio. Right to left chasing I think means you are in freewheel. Turn the Power off and reset the levers in front on the chair then turn the power back on and hope the lights are steady and the chair will work. If this doesn't do it maybe you are in lockout mode. If you have the manual for this chair it should explain how to get out of "lockout". If not try turning the power on and within 10 seconds push the joystick straight forward and hold until you hear a beep then immediately move the joystick to the rear and hold until you hear another beep then release joystick to the center. This should get it out of "lockout" Hope this helps!!! Of course you could always call Hoveround and ask for tech support to help with this. Checkout their website for phone number Hoveround.com

When switched on power light flashes.

How many flashes? Count number of flashes should be a slight pause then flashes the same number of times . Your manual will give you flash codes and you can determine what the problem is. If all the lights are flashing and there is no pause the chair could be in "lockout" Your manual should tell you how to get the chair out of lockout I think that Pride uses the joystick to get it out of this mode.. Turn the chair on move the joystick forward till you hear a beep then move the joystick to the rear until you hear another beep release the joystick and the lights should quit flashing Hope this helps

When turning power it makes a clicking sound but does not power up. battery charger has a red and green light on. When plugged in and turned on it flashes 8 times. I checked the power control connection,...

The chair will not move if the charger is plugged in. The flashes are normal with the charger plugged into the chair. The lights on the charger mean that the batteries have been fully charged. Red and yellow lights mean charging. After you unplug the charger from the chair (if off-baord charger, turn charger off or unplug from the wall) then unplug from joystick. after plug is removed from joystick press the on button and all the battery lights should be lit and when you move the joystick forward you will hear the electric bake release and the chair should move forward etc Hope this helps
