I put a new carb on my troy billt 31cc leaf blower. I checked for spark and cleaned the spark arrester. I try to prime it and turn it over yet the spark plug is dry as a bone. i also changed fuel lines and the fuel filter. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Check the fuel pump or fuel injector.

I must say though, you might want to do more research on mechanical issues. I doubt your solutions actually help.

See if you have spark to the plug, if not replace coil. You did everything else it should start, make sure start switch is to the on position. You replaced carb are the lines connected to the correct places and not kinked. Is your clunk clean. not much else to go wrong. Good Luck......

Will not start...cleaned carb...new spark plug...seems to have plenty of compression but how do I check that from home?

Some people use an actual compression testing tool that measures psi and some people just put their thumb over the spark plug hole and pull the rope quickly and see if it pushes their thumb off the hole.

Won't prime, the only way i start it is to remove spark plug and put fuel in cyl. I have replaced the primer bulb and line, and the fuel mixture is correct, My next step was to buy a new carb?

try to keep it running on wd-40 after you get it started and sometimes it will clean-out the carbs varnish blockage,if not remove and clean or replace the carb

Wont start, not getting fuel, checked lines, carb and used starter fluid, runs but won't continue to run

You may need to do a more detailed cleaning on the carburetor. I like to use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning teeth), to get into the small ports. They work great for this job. You may also need to check the small screen in carb. It gets blocked with debris. If you need further assistance, please contact me.

Troy built leaf blower

If a small engine wont start its usually one of two problems, its not getting gas, or its not getting spark. easy way to find out if its getting a spark is to remove the plug, put it back back in the connector and just let it hang down while you try to start it. you should see a bright blue spark, if you dont try changing the spark plug. if its getting a spark come back on this site and i'll help you trouble shoot it.
