PCI SIMPLE COMMUNICATIONS CONTROLLER DRIVER OF MY DELL LATITUDE D810

Hello Francis,

In order to resolve this issue, first you have to determine which hardware is concerned. To do so, please follow the steps below.

  1. From your desktop, click on Start > Control Panel > then Performance & Maintenance > System > and finally Device Manager.
  2. In the Device Manager, right-click on the PCI Simple Communications Controller and click Properties and click on the Details tab.
  3. Now you should have something like : PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_29C0&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_0A\3&172E68DD&0&00. This will tell us a lot about the hardware, especially the Vendor and the Device. You will notice that I have put only a part of the in bold. This is what is the most important to us.
  4. Note down the VEN_XXXX&DEV_XXXX.
  5. Go to this site : http://www.pcidatabase.com.
  6. Once on the site, enter the 4 characters after VEN_ in the Vendor Search box and the 4 characters after DEV_ in the Device Search box. To help you better understand, below is an illustration.
    jb_b_4.jpgjb_b_6.jpg
  7. Click on Search near the Device Search box and you will obtain the Vendor and Device Information. Below is an illustration.
jb_b_7.jpg
In case you obtain more than one result like here, check under Device Id for the correct device. In this case it should have been 0x29C0, but I have taken another example to have a case where there is more than one result.

Now you know what device is concerned and who is the Vendor (manufacturer).

Now, all you have to do is to go to your computer's manufacturer support website and get the drive from there.

In your case, please follow the following steps:

  • Go to dell support Drivers and Downloads for Dell D810 page.
  • Put some filters to narrow your search and get the best drivers. In this case, select the correct Operating System and set 'Type' to Driver.
  • Check in the list if there is some drivers corresponding to your device.
  • If not, just go to drivers downloads sites like http://www.driverguide.com/ and look fr the driver there.
Hope it helps.

No network driver after reformatting the system.....window 7 ultimate....no PCI Simple Communication Controller....no Standard VGA Graphic Adapter.....

If this is the original operating system you can download the drivers at the hp support website.

Just type in your model number (can be found on a white sticker on the bottom of your laptop).
The pci simple communications controller is the phone modem.
And the vga graphic adapter is your video or video card.

Hi, I've just installed OS. In Device Manager there are exclamation marks by Ethernet controller, Network controller and PCI simple communications controller. I've tried emachines...

You should install the drivers from this link:

http://support.gateway.com/us/en/emac/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=3333

Install the chipset driver first, the you install LAN driver and the appropriate Wireless LAN driver. You would probably find which wireless card you have by looking under your computer, there should be a sticker.

Motherboard Simple PCI Communications Driver Code 28 for modem

Hello, Mike.

In case you still need this:

To find and install the driver for the simple communications controller:

Go to Device Manager and click on the pci simple communications controller

Go to Properties and then Details. You will see a code like PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_27D8&SUBSYS...
The VEN code means vendor and the DEV code means device: in the example the vendor is 8086 and the device is 27D8.

Once you have the two codes, go to www.pcidatabse.com. Enter the two codes and you should get the name of your hardware.

From there, you can search for a driver download for your hardware.

Hope this helps.

PCI Simple Communications Controller

Hi, I have a solution. If you go in device manager, click on the pci simple communications controller, go in property and then go in details. You will see a code like per example PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_27D8&SUBSYS...

The VEN code means vendor and the DEV code means device: in my case the vendor is 8086 and the device is 27D8.

Once you have the two codes, go to www.pcidatabase.com. Enter the two codes and you should get the name of your
hardware. From there you can search for a driver download for your hardware.

In my case the pci simple communications controller was a Microsoft UAA Bus HD audio. I also had another pci
device that didn't work properly, using the same method I found out that my pci device was an HSF PCI internal modem with code number CX11252-11. I had a hard time downloading one of the drivers, after 6 or 7 times the download started so be patient if you have the same hardware
.
NOTE: to access the device manager, go in control panel, then performance and maintenance, system, hardware and finally device manager.

Hopefully this helps you, good luck.
