My DGB-500 Cuisinart Grind & Brew coffee maker leaks coffee

The leaking doesn't happen all the time, but is happening more and more frequently. I always check that the coffee grinds are removed before brewing, but coffee leaks out onto the counter top anyway (roughly 1/2 cup or more)

I found out that internally the water line that comes off of the heating element is made of a rubber/silicon material. The heating element is so hot that it scorches or dryrots the tube and it cracks causeing leaking. Sometimes it comes pouring out and other times it just is enough to make it a pain. I have taken the time to get my specialized screwdriver set and take off the bottom of the pot, but have not been able to find a replacement tube for it. (They also made the tube so that you dont have enough to cut the broken end off and put it back on and if you COULD do it, they also put an "X" in the original tube so if you cut it and try to put it on you cannot push it on far enough. Other than this, it was a great coffee brewer for me for the past four years. (Put baking soda and water paste on the coffee stain if you have formica counters. A few times of doing that and the stain will come clean)

How to fix the leak from the bottom of my cuisinart dgb-900bc

Re: Cuisinart grind and brew model DGB900BC leaking from the bottom. Finally fixed it before buying a new one. Remove the 4 torq screws (#10 bit check auto stores) from the bottom and remove the bottom. You will see a horse shoe shaped metal coil that heats the water from the resevoir. I found that the coil had a small hole in it. Cleaned it well and applied a coat of epoxy paste to the leaking area ( I used a product called PC11 from Ace) So far, no leaks, and the coffee maker is working like new.

I have a cuisinart grind & brew coffee pot that leaks when I put water in it. How can I open it to see where the water is coming from?

The Manual for your coffee maker can be found here:

http://www.cuisinart.ca/pdf/ibs/en/DGB-600BCC_en.pdf

'Leaks' are usually caused by overfilling either the water reservoir or the coffee basket or by coffee grounds interfering with a seal.

Make sure you perform a complete cleaning on your coffee maker making sure any contact points which need to seal are free of coffee grounds.

Instructions for removing the grinder and filter baskets are contained within your manual.

This coffee maker (10 c maker with grinder) beeps it's done every few minutes with water left. we have to brew about 5 times for a full pot, what gives?

Presume this is the Grind & Brew Thermal™ 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker, Model # DGB-600BCC

An instruction booklet is available here: http://www.cuisinart.ca/pdf/ibs/en/DGB-600BCC_en.pdf

Review the sections beginning on page 11 of the pdf on Turning Off the Grind Function (if not using the grind feature) and Making Coffee.

Make sure you are turning off the grind function if using preground coffee and that the reservoir lid is securely closed.

Check the Cups Setting button; is sounds like the 1-4 feature may be turned on.

We have a Cuisinart DGB-900 BC Grind and Brew Thermal Coffeemaker. Our Problem is that the bean grinder has stopped working. We purchased the coffee maker on 2/25/10. Prior to this happening, we were...

try cleaning the grind chute again. if problem persists:
this is a cronic problem with the DGB900BC even after cleaning. the problem is the gate or trap to the grounds needs to open/remain open during grinding or all backs up and jams. my unit opens the door (correctly) during the rotation but closes just before grinding (over-rotation?). Cuisinart is not aware of this problem (800-726-0190). please call them; i just have.
