How do you change the language?

it all depends if you have the english version or spanish version or multi language.
if you have multi language one you would have to go through setup to set it as english you can do that by using the restore disk or by pressing f8 after restarting it while it reboots it should take you in to advanced boot menu

1. Press Tools, the symbol in the bottom right corner of a spanner.
2. Press Settings, the symbol in the top left corner of a spanner.
3. Press Language, the symbol of lips

You'll see 3 bars one for text language, one for voice language and one for keyboard layout.
Press each one in turn and select english as the language.

Display Language
You can select either “English” or “Spanish” as the display language. The factory
preset is “English”.
• If you select a language you cannot read, change the display language again

1 Press [MENU].
2 Scroll to “Initial setting” by pressing [up]
or [down], then press Select.
3 Scroll to “Change language” by pressing [up]
or [down], then press Select.
4 To change from English to Spanish, press
Español.
To change from Spanish to English, press
English.
• The display changes to the selected language.
• You can also select a language by pressing [up] or
[down].
5 When Spanish is selected, press Salvar, then press [OFF].
When English is selected, press Save, then press [OFF].

follow the change language preferences prompts and you will do it and also check your default voice it may have gone to a spanish character.

Tap your map screen, tap change preference ( bottom right icon next to the forward arrow). Tap the forward arrow until you see an icon of flags. Tap the icon and then you can change your language.

Touch center of screen to menu. Touch lower right arrow until you see an icon with three flags. It will then show you a list of languages.

This is from my tomtom one (not sure what edition) so the page numbers refer to mine.

1.Touch the screen for the menu
2.on page 1 of 3 on the menu, touch the blue wrench (change prefs)
3.press the black right arrow key to page 4 of 7 in preferences and touch the flags icon
4.press your desired language

Switch your tom tom on and look for menú and click on it,
then scroll to instalación then you should find idioma. this is where you will be able to change the language back to english
