Pictures are very dark.

I recently bought a Canon Powershot SD790 IS ELPH. I had read reviews that said it took great pictures. All my pictures are very dark. the flash works fine. I have tried to follow the possible solutions in the manual, but the pictures are still too dark.

I have tried manual and auto. I have changed the shooting mode to indoor and then portrait.

I suspect Aperture Drive in the lens is jammed.
It usually happens if camera was accidentally bumped.

How much memory can be expanded to maximum in canon sd790??rushab

You can expand the memory as much as you want. The SD790 uses SD and SDHC cards, which go up to 32GB each. You can swap cards in and out, as many as you want. However, I would strongly suggest you transfer the pictures to your computer on a regular basis instead of storing them on your camera and/or memory card.

Lately it has been taking very dark pictures, even though the flash goes off, the pictures are still dark.

Did you change the exposure compensation setting or the ISO setting? You could go into the menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions to return to factory default settings.

Flash will not fire on Canon SD780 IS Elph

The flash circuit is defective. As it's only a couple weeks old, recommend just exchanging it for another from your place of purchase. You shouldn't be attempting repair while its under warranty.

Can I use a 16GB SDHC class 6 flash memory card in my "Canon Powershot SD790 IS" Digital Elph?

You have to have an approved SDHC device in order to read those cards.

The best you can do is 2gb.
