Does anyone know how to disable the write protection on this soltek SL-75FRV Motherboard. I'm trying to update the bios but something is preventing me from doing so, I keep getting an error message. I've been told to check the write protection in the original bios setup but I can't find it to disable it. According to the manual it does have bios writing protection. I was also told to check the board itself for any jumper settings that might disable it but I couldn't find anything.
Sometimes the BIOS calls this protection some sort of "virus protection" as past viruses, like the CIH virus would tend to overwrite motherboard BIOS' with jargon, bricking the motherboard. Try disabling any onboard "virus" protection and try flashing your BIOS again.
A general protection fault is due to a program trying to write outside of the designated memory area.
Invalid opcode is an error to do with the computer not understanding what it is trying to interpret at assembler code (the lowest basic level of computer programming there is - in other words, the most complex to you and me).
The first error may be causing the second error. You may have a faulty BIOS chip.

Does anyone recognise these 2 error message's below. They are to do with whatever is preventing me from updating my bios.
DOS/4G error (2001):exception 0Dh(general protection fault) at 1A0:00290F02
DOS/4G error (2001) exception 06h (invalid opcode) at 1A0:00290E46
Unfortunately due to the fact that I have been unsuccessful in updating the bios I have requested a refund from esupport who provided me with the update.
Thank you for your help, it is much appreciated.
I have same problem.
