My HP 3260N 32" LCD HDTVjust suddenly stopped working. We were watching the final 4 and suddenly the sound stopped and then the screen went blank. As the screen went blank there was a ghost image of whitish light that streaked across the screen fom right to left.
None of the buttons on the tv or the remote have any effect on the tv except the power button. There is no inscreen cues for volume just a blank screen. Everytime the tv is turned on or off the whitish image flashes right to left and then the screen goes black.
I tried the reseting the tv by unplugging everythig and holdng the power button down for 5 seconds. When I tried the powering the tv I got the same response and a larger ghost image flashes across the screen from right to left.
Any suggestions would

HP has identified a issue with the DV6000Z and monitor. I just reported the same problem to HP and even though off warranty, they will fix free. Power up of DV6000Z you will get 3 beeps and no monitor display. External monitor does not work either. This is a known issue woth the DV6000Z.

My HP PL4260N lost the video portion today . I've had it for only 15 months. It is past the waaranty and HP needs $629.00 to fix it. They know about the problem and yet they do not disclose it at purchase times. It is hard to believe a big name company like HP does that. My next TY, computer, printer or fax IS NOT GOING TO BE HP.

I learned recently that, since I purchased mine with a VISA card, VISA automatically doubled my warranty to extend it to a second year. Hope this helps someone else.

I would suggest checking your hard drive to see whether or not it has a bad sector on it.
