At first our freezer was so cold, that it was freezing the vegetable that were in the refrigerator part above the bottom freezer. So, I turned the temperature down (it was at the coldest setting) and that helped with the vegetables, but the ice cream started getting soft. When I put the setting back up to the coldest in the freezer, it seemed to get even warmer. There is frost covering the entire back of the freezer now. The refrigerator is at the medium setting. What is the problem???

there is a drain hole in the freezer dept in the fridge that is blocked This requires removing all the panels etc within the freezer until you get to the main grill at the back This will be iced up so you might have to wait a while or you might be able to chip away at it. You will then see the drain hole concerned at thre bottom Try pocking a thin wire down it or poor hot water over it Its a bit of fiddling around but is not hard to clear Problem solved

Most likely your refrigerator is set at too cold a setting. Just turn the temperature adjustment to a warmer setting.

Sounds as if you have a bad timer or a cold control They can be replaced. Most likely it is the cold control
